So the stable was going through a weeks-long slump when one horse showed up to win last Saturday, and today we not only got two of our nine runners in the winner’s circle but we also got a brand new stakes winner.
[color=red]Not A Prospector, [color=blue]Galaxy Seven, and [color=red]Fleet Hope finished second in their allowances.
[color=blue]Leave A Note ran fifth in his. Will probably run him one more time and then give him a break.
[color=blue]Ship of the Line is still a maiden with a 7th place finish. Sigh. Gelding is an option at this point. You hear that, Ship?
[color=red]Solient K and [color=green]First Taken finished 11th in their respective races - a maiden and an allowance.
The very well bred 3YO [color=red]Vishnu won her allowance, and [color=red]Lady Ironsides earned her Champion status with a surprise win in the Grade 3 Las Flores Handicap. We’ve been waiting for that light bulb to switch on and it looks like this year is the year for her.
Well, most of the stable did dismally today (still dropping back right before the finish) but there one bright spot.
I claimed [color=red]Black Tea solely for her name and she ended up winning her race. Hopefully she will inject some life back into the rest of the barn!
[color=blue]Lethal Evil and [color=blue]Full Moon Rising ran in the same 5f NW3 on the dirt finishing third and fifth. A rest break/gelding/sale might be possible options for one or both of them.
The penny finally seems to have dropped for [color=red]Juxtaposed who won her mixed sex NW2Â
[color=red]Ama Nesciri was 3rd in her 5.0f turf maiden.
[color=green]Creole King was 5th/6 in his 8.0f NW1 steeplechase. The seven-year-old has been retired.
[color=green]My Kingdom was 6th/8 in a 6.0f allowance on turf. We’re going to start playing around with equipment now.
[color=blue]Uncle Pennybags was 1st/6 in an 8.5f turf NW1.
[color=red]Song of Tears was 1st/6 in an 11.5f NW2 steeplechase.
[color=green]Silver Cross brought home another stakes win and a hefty paycheck in the Grade 3 Baguette Stakes. It’s his first stakes attempt over a sprint distance, and I’m very happy with his performance.
