Woo! TWO stakes wins! Almost half our stakes entries on the board, even.
Wins:
[color=red]Temporary Insanity (Foolhardy) with her first win since last year in the Santa Maria Handicap.
[color=red]Takemetothewizard (TakeMeToHollywood) who we just threw into a stakes race because it fit her distance-wise. She’s 3 for 3 this year, yay!
Places:
[color=red]Perfect Timing (A.P. Indy) in the Santa Maria Handicap, right behind Temporary Insanity.
Shows:
[color=blue]Country Store (Point Given) in an allowance.
Some disappointments from the other stakes fillies, but overall I’m happy.
Blurgh. Quite a few than ran so-so but two of our stakes entries who should have run good were no bueno.
Highlight of the day was Double Luck who FINALLY got her stakes win in the Rare Treat. This girl has been the quintissential brides-maid with many a second and third place finish in stakes, today was finally her day! Hopefully she can continue in this vein! She also earned GCh. status today!
Meh. One out. He did poorly. I’m going to try him on jump trials, I think he has a jockey who knows him well enough, can’t remember right now. Plus, I think it’s time for him to be snipped, he’s never going to do well enough, that I can tell, to make it worth keeping him intact.
Blah , sent my stakes boy [color=blue]Kichiro to aus. And his first race there he trailed everyone! So bummed!
Sent out 5 , [color=blue]Kamenwati gave out 1.5f from the finish in a 15.5f race, from 4th to 6th. Now I know his max.
Another inconstant[color=blue] Flash Over finished 9th don’t know what his problem was.
Two boys hit the board ,
[color=blue]Riverton heights a colt finished 3rd in his aus. Allowance for 3+,
and [color=green]Viva las Vegas a geld,was 2nd in his allowance for 4+
Pretty decent week. It was good to see some of those wins!
Dreams of Glory was a disappointing 8th in her maiden.
Pearls of Wisdom won her NW1. Finally!
Lonely Victor was 2nd in his OA.
Celtic Cross won her OA.
Forbidden City was 4th against the boys.
This I Believe was 5th against the boys.
Take It In Stride won his NW1. Stablemate Pointed Question was 4th
Washingtonian was 2nd in his NW2.
Amazonian Spirit was a disappointing 8th in the Fountain of Youth.
Toast of the Town was 3rd in the Gr. 1 Santa Maria Handicap.
Chance of Rain was the highlight of the day, winning Gr. 1 Flight Stakes. Ask Directions was a disappointing 7th.
Queen of Sheba and Reprise went 2-3 in the Gr. 2 Edward Manifold Stakes.
First, our new filly claimed in Australia, [color=red]Crownette (Giant’s Causeway (B) - Cream of the Crop (G)) was 1st/6 in NW1 Allowance for 3yo, being the only filly in the race, which she won by 4 3/4 lengths. This is her second start ever, and a second win. She’s going to be special!
[color=red]Ch. The Woman In Black won 8.5 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+, in which [color=red]Ch. Melodramatic was 6th.
[color=red]Ch. Love Signal finished 3rd/13 in Rare Treat Handicap.
[color=red]Shadow In The Dark was 3rd/6 in a starter allowance. Very happy about all of them.
Had some promising results today with 5 in the money out of 7 sent:
Wins: [color=red]Brass Eagle (Gimme A Shot) broke her maiden in a 9f 3yo race [color=blue]Von Lichtenstein (I’m A Classic) won the 8.5f G1 Fountain of Youth Stakes!!! I have some BIG plans for him the next couple of months and sent him home to rest up.
Places: [color=blue]Denali (Highland Wizard) in a 9.5f NW2 Allowance [color=red]Sorcha (Irish River) in a 6f Allowance for 3yo F [color=red]Middleofthenight (Magic Glory) in a 8f NW1 Allowance for 3yo
[color=blue]Red Dog won his NW1 against 5 others. This was a shock.
[color=red]Ekosian won her NW2 against 10 others. She’s been doing great this year.
[color=blue]Field of Diamonds ran 2nd/10 in his OA.
[color=green]Plutus ran 4th/7 in his OA.
[color=red]A.P. Goodyear ran 5th/8 in a OA.
[color=blue]Rocket Smoke and [color=blue]Dublin were 5th and 9th/9 in their OA.
Not a good day for us, but we sent out almost all maidens.
Homebred 4YO [color=green]NOTMYFIRSTRODEO (x Temptation) was the only one on the board today, with a 2nd in his claiming race (and, thank goodness, he was not claimed!)
The others all were way off the mark, with the next best finish being a midpack 7th/14 from 3YO maiden [color=red]SHOOTFORTHESTARS. Guess we’ll keep working with them, then. Hopefully next time we’ll have better news to report.
