2/1

Sent 8 out, 5 were in the money so overall a pretty good day

Hishi Natalie (Boldness Shows) ran 2nd/12 in a turf allowance. A nice turn around from her previous start

Solo Sunset (War Chant) ran in the same race as Hishi and ran 6th… Not surprised, can’t figure this filly out!

Outer Bounds (Omaha) did awesome winning his turf allowance. He likes the longer distances

Run Jenny Run (What’s Your Point) brought home a nice win in a NW3 allowance. Brought our confidence back in her as he ran poorly in his previous start.

The Duchess (Sneak Peek) ran a terrible 12th. Can’t figure her out, maybe shes a steeples horse

Careless Whisper ran a very disappointing 9th in the Mac Diarmida Handicap. She was running SO well last year, I don’t understand why she forgot how to run in the new year… Guess i’ll ship her hope for a month or 2 rest.

Anglesite (I’m Your Angel) ran a solid 4th in the Dave Feldman Stakes which was a large tough pack. This filly is turning into a solid stakes contender.

Nobleton (Point Given) also ran well in the Dave Feldman Stakes just beating his stablemate Anglesite for a 3rd place finish. This was his first ever stakes start, hopefully he can keep it up!

8(3)-2-1-1(1)-1(1) $32,750

Either really good or really awful.

Highlights included:

Pointed Question coming in 2nd in his NW3
Chance of Rain finishing 2nd against the boys in her ungraded stakes.
Fabulously High’s win in the Gr. 1 Sunshine Millions.
Reprise’s win in the Gr. 2 Palos Verdes Handicap.

Two 4th place efforts by Ask Directions and Forbidden City.

The remaining 6 were off the board.

All I can say is BLAH!!!  4 out of 17 what a waste of money!!!
17(9)-1-2-0-1 $23,050

Much improvement since last results day!

Actinella made her 3yo bow today with a 2nd/6 in a turf nw2 for three-year-old fillies.

After breaking her maiden last out Blue Thistle came back today with a good performance again winners, finishing 2nd/6 in a dirt NW2.

Firsthand Account broke through today, breaking her maiden in a turf NW1 for fillies and mares. 1st/12.

I Slew You put in a solid performance in a turf NW3. Very pleased with him especially because he has yet to break his maiden and this is a tougher condition. We were looking for a  maiden or NW1 but this came up first. Hopefully he’ll break his maiden soon. 3rd/14.

Ifalike finished a good 2nd/14 against the boys in a turf NW3.

Kiss For Luck ran great to finish 2nd/14 in the Busanda Stakes.

Romantic Memory wired the field in a turf OA for fillies and mares. 1st/11.

I had a pretty good one!

[color=green]Jagged Stone has won back to back in open allowance, making it 1 third and 2 wins from 3 starts this year. He’s a super honest horse, he strung 4 wins in a row together late last year working up through his grades. I think he has earnt a crack at a stakes race.

[color=red]Outlasting won her NW3 by 2 lenghts and is making her way up through the grades nicely.

[color=red]Gallant Lassie won a claiming and then got claimed  ::) She hadn’t showed much thus far so hopefully she can do something for the new owner.

[color=green]Tioga Junction had his first well deserved Stakes win in the Mac Diarmida. He won 4 open allowances and placed in others late last year in Oz but there was no stakes races for him. Brought him back to the paddock for a spell and he dissapointed first up in the Hals Hope coming 10th. I thought he may be outclassed in Stakes grade, needless to say I am very satisfied.

[color=red]Fire Chant impressed in her first stakes start. Claimed recently she had won 3 from 3 starts and her times were solid so I thought I’d have a go in stakes grade. She came 5th.

[color=blue]Flying Monkey won the G3 Sping Stakes in Oz.  He has been coming around 4th and 5th in his last 5 stakes starts, although still a G3 race, the significantly low prizemoney made it easier for him.

Some highlights of the day at the races…
[color=blue]Smokin’ Star, our grey Australian stallion, again won easily. He was 1st/8 in 9 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+ on fast turf. This is his third win in a row.
[color=red]Ch. Love Signal was 2nd/11, and [color=red]Classical Hightail was 4th in 8.5 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+ F/M, on good turf, both with the same speed figure.
[color=red]Ch. Restless Heart, recently claimed, was 5th/11 in Santa Monica Handicap, a Grade 1 stakes race. We will let her relax in some easier races.
We also claimed [color=red]Lacune not so long  ago, and she was 4th/6 in her first easy race for us. I hope that she will improve despite her 8 unsuccessful races in the past, but we bought her mostly for her pedigree.

Blah. 21(9)-4-0-3-1 $67,400. Of course, stakes ponies fail to perform - again.

Wins:
[color=red]Bandit’s Love in a NW2, breaking her maiden.

[color=blue]Full of Promise in a NW2, breaking his maiden.

[color=red]Hidden Silver in a NW3.

[color=red]Crown of Stars in a maiden.

Best stakes effort was [color=blue]Little John, who was 5th in the Spring Stakes.

[color=red]Doubles and [color=red]Pride Lands both flopped again. Doubles is going to head to the breeding shed, and Pride Lands is going to get tweaked a little bit, since I’m not sure what’s going on with her.

But [color=red]Moon Eclipse won her 9.5f dirt open allowance against the boys, which is great. I may let her try some stakes company in her next start and see if she can still handle those fields as a five-year-old. She last raced against stakes company as a three-year-old, so we’ll see.
