Nice to be back in winners circle

Sent out 6 with 2 out of the money, not a great day but at least a little money.

[color=red]Angelic Theory-5.0f Allow,3yo,Dirt - Good,[color=red]3rd Racing in mixed company and with her stablemate I expected the finish to be reversed, but happy with her place
[color=red]Nightlit Haze-5.0f Allow,3yo,Dirt - Good, [color=red]5th no idea why she fell behind her stablemate,maybe she wants more distance now that she’s older.
[color=blue]Generous One-13.5f Allow,4yo+,SC - Good,[color=blue]12th no idea what happened here.
[color=blue]Franklin-6.0f Maiden,3yo+,Turf - Good, [color=blue]4th following close on the heels of his stablemate I think he liked the view.
[color=red]In The Fast Lane-6.0f Maiden,3yo+,Turf - Good,[color=red]3rd racing in mixed company with her stablemate on her tail, the only filly in mixed company in the top 3
[color=red]Devils Grace-9.0f Allow,4yo+,Dirt - Good, [color=red]10th really surprised at this one she had been doing so well, maybe time to retire.

Decent week. Not as good as last week, but we’ll take it.

Point of Pride was 4th in his OA.
Higher Agenda was 2nd in her OA against the boys.
Sweet as Honey and Pointed Question were 3rd and 9th in their NW2.
Highlight of the day was It’s A Girl’s Gr. 2 win. Forgotten Road was a disappointing 8th. But as a 6yo, she’s probably earned herself a good retirement.
Soupy was 2nd in her Gr. 2.
Unconditional Love and Queen of Sheba finished 4th and 8th in their Gr. 2.

Three out, none of them did very well, with a 7th,8th, and a 13th place.  Here’s hoping the four I have racing on the 18th do better.  :stuck_out_tongue:

[color=red]Song Of Tears (Danzig (S) x Blind Justice (S)) managed 5th/14 in her OA steeplechase for 4yo+.

[color=blue]Zeromancer (Gunningdownromance (S) x Executioner (S)) hit the board for the first time, running 4th/14 in an NW2 for 3yo on dirt. He seems to need more distance.

I managed to win a claim on [color=red]Beth’s Our Choice, a cute 3YO filly by Irish River and out of Buzzing America. She broke her maiden and won her 9.0f claimer for 3yo fillies on turf. I’m excited to see what she can do for us!

[color=green]Silver Cross had some tough competition in the 8.0f dirt Grade 2 San Fernando Breeder’s Cup for 4YO+. He toughed it out and managed a solid 3rd/10, winning me back the money I spent on the claiming tag for Beth’s Our Choice.

All in all, not a spectacular day, but everyone managed to do relatively well. I managed a small increase in my bank balance, so I’m happy. :slight_smile:

A great day for us at Oakwood!

Attack Position finished 1st/14 in a marathon dirt NW3.

Blue Thistle made her second start for us today, and it was a winning one. Broke her maiden today in a dirt NW1 for older horses. 1st/6.

Champs Elysees acquited himself well today after breaking his maiden 10 days ago, he ran well today to finish 2nd/14 in a turf NW2.

Don’t Put Me Back was the highlight of the day with a gutsy win in the G2 San Gorgonio. Her first stakes win and she also earned Ch. status today, 1st/13.

This year has gotten off to a really pleasing start.  Today was another good day, with 5/10 in the money and a new addition to the string.

[color=blue]HotForTeacher kicked things off with a respectable 2nd place in his 15.5f NW1 for 4yo+ on Turf.  A bit of new equipment seems to have perked him up, though I think he needs a little less distance.

[color=blue]Typhoon earned a paycheck in a 9f NW1 on Turf, also for 4yo+.  He finished 2nd with a nice speed figure, so hopefully we’ll get him to the winner’s circle one of these days.

[color=red]Margaritaville took 1st in her 10.5f NW2 on Dirt, making a bit of a comeback with some new equipment.  Might try for something a little tougher next time.

[color=green]Deus Ex Machina and [color=red]For The Glory ran in the same 9.5f NW3 SC, finishing 11th and 7th respectively.  Deus has been a thorn in our sides for a while now and might get retired soon.  Glory may need a lengthy break.

Victory continues to elude 3yo [color=red]So She Sleeps despite a really nice pedigree and tons of potential.  She might end up switched to the jumps before the year is done.  She ran 8th in an 8f Allowance for 3yo’s on Dirt.

In race #30 we claimed [color=red]Essential Oils, who hasn’t raced for two years but looks to still have some run in her.  She finished a decent 4th in a 9f SC test.

4yo [color=blue]Battle Drum faded over 9f on Dirt for 5th place.  We’ll keep fiddling with his equipment and see if he can’t get a little closer to a win.

[color=red]Refinement finished 6th in the second race of her career, 8f for Maidens over Dirt. Her effort got her a little past midpack at the finish, so we’re thinking some equipment might get her home quicker.

3yo [color=red]Fleet Renee probably came back a little fast in her 9.5f dirt bow.  She finished 10th with a much higher speed figure than in her previous race on the turf.  She’ll likely return to the grass next time in hopes of improvement.

The highlight of the day was [color=red]Queen of Stars finishing first in the G2 Chelmsford Stakes.  Hopefully she’ll continue to run as successfully over the course of the year.  I believe this is our first stakes win since October.

Not the best day here, I think a chunk of my races need some resting time.

Anex (Almost Home) was a horse I claimed for $25,000 and she ran 2nd. I was surprised to get her (thought there would be competition!) because she is out of gold rated mare Red Flyer. This means she is 1/2 to GCh. Magic Flyer, GCh. Mauna Loa, SW First Flight and SP Soar. This claimer was her first start.

Easy Silence (Sunday Silence) was a flop running 9th in the San Gorgonio Handicap. She wasn’t ready

Eloquently (Strider) won her allowance by a nose. I think she has the potential to run a very successful year

Honest Lady (Rumor Has It) ran a terrible 14th. Still trying to figure her out, this was only her 3rd start.

Six Point O (Magic Glory) surprised me running 9th in a SC allowance. She finished her 3yo year very well so its strange she ran so poorly… May have not been a long enough race

Solo Sunset (War Chant) ran an OK 4th in a maiden allowance. May fiddle with her equipment see if that can be improved.

The Duke (Sneek Peek) ran 2nd in his race which was amazing. His previous owner ran him 6 times with the same equipment and he ran poorly every time so I tried him without any equipment. Clearly he liked it. Hopefully he keeps it up

Uncanny Yodel (Highland Bandit) ran a solid 3rd in a SC allowance. Third seems to be her favourite position

Pretty good day for us…except the stakes ponies, of course.

Wins:
[color=red]Takemetothewizard broke her maiden in a NW3.

[color=blue]Hollywood Rival broke his maiden.

Places:
[color=red]Queen’s Fool in an allowance.

[color=red]Crown of Stars in a maiden.

[color=red]In The Loop in a NW1.

Shows:
[color=blue]Silver Sword in a NW1.

[color=blue]Jazz Star in a NW1.

[color=red]On Angel’s Wings in a NW3.

[color=red]Swan Song in an allowance.

[color=red]Sydney Ellen in a NW1.

[color=red]Ring of Smoke in a NW2.

4th:
[color=red]Perfect Timing in the San Fernando Breeders’ Cup.

[color=blue]Usain Bolt in a NW1.

Blah:
Everyone else, including three more stakes ponies.

Good day. Our champions decided to make us proud this weekend.

[color=red]Ch. The Woman In Black - 1st/14 in  9 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+ on dirt, finishing 2 1/4 lengths in front of the runner up and leaving many good geldings and stallions behind.
[color=red]Ch. Private Party - 1st/11 in 5.5 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+ on turf, by a neck but also against many boys.

Others also ran well but not that good so I will leave only these highlights this time.
