We were allergic to the winner’s circle today. Biggest disappointment was Solid Rest, who has been trying to score a final SW the last three years but I think he’s officially done. I’ve never managed to qualify a colt past their 6yo season, and Solid Rest has clearly gotten worse since his 4yo season. He was probably the last hope of a Silver Wizard son making it to stud.

I was looking over my retired lot yesterday, my tale is the same, I’ve got 5 or 6 who looked like they’d make it but fell of the form cliff after 5 year old.

It’s one part of the game that frustrates me, horses don’t suddenly stop being good, it’s a gradual decline in real life, sometimes that’s early and some times that can be 9yr olds!

I wish FF wasn’t as cut and dried once they turn 6.
