12/28

Just the one runner today.

Stable favourite [color=blue]Quarren (4yo Sadlers Wells) scored in the Grade 1 Omaha Breeders Stakes taking his tally of stakes wins to 11. He’ll hopefully continue to run well into the New Year before taking up stallion duties in 2019.

Happy New Year everyone!

One runner today as well, and [color=red]Rahy On The Rocks does it again, winning a 9.5f NW3 on turf. Conditions were good today so I guess she just doesn’t like a slow track. Nice way to end the year, =)

We ended the year with a bang with 13 wins in the last two race days. We will be losing a number of our older stars to the Breeding Barns next year but have many current 2 & 3yo’s who we are hopeful will fill in for them.

27(18)-6(4)-4(4)-6(4)-5(3) $912,100

Wins
[color=blue]Ch. Holy Warrior, (2yo, Black Warrior x In Thy Name) 1/3 in the G1 Man O’War Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. His 4th win (along with 2 seconds) in 10 starts. All of his wins were SW and included 2 G1W. One of our brightest hopes for the Turf Classics next year.
[color=red]G.Ch. Major Dreams, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Sheza Dreamer) 1/3 in the G1 Highland Sorceress Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. She finished either first (7) or second (6) in all but one of her 14 races this year (all of her wins were SW and included 2 G1W) and earned over $1.4m. She will be back racing next year.
[color=blue]Ch. Star of Wonder, (3yo, Harvard Bound x Wonder’s Miracle) 1/10 in the G3 Grafton Cup in Australia. He will be back racing next year.
[color=blue]National Dream, (3yo, Gunningdownromance x American Rhapsody) 1/11 in the Ung Alex M. Robb Stakes at Aqueduct. His first race in our colors and he has already repaid his purchase price. He will be back racing next year.
[color=red]G.Ch. Sand Dune, (3yo, Giant’s Causeway x Dayatthebeach) 1/6 in an OA in Australia. Her 5th win in 14 starts this year, only finishing out of the first 3 twice (4th & 6th) and earning over $1.3m. She will be back racing next year.
[color=blue]Debate With Me, (2yo, What’s Debatable x Nudge Me) 1/6 in an NW3 at Woodbine. After two Also Rans on Dirt, we switched him to Turf with great effect.

Seconds
[color=blue]G.Ch. Magic Roundabout, (3yo, Magic Glory x What’s That About) 2/4 in the G1 Cigar Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. He finished second in all three legs of this series, beaten by a different horse each time. He earned his “GCh” title with this performance. He will be back racing next year.
[color=red]Ch. Devil’s Flight, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Coco Diablo) 2/3 in the G1 Highland Sorceress Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. She finished secon in 7 of her 14 races this year, including the last two legs of this Series. She will be back racing next year.
[color=blue]G.Ch. Bracton, (3yo, Rumor Has It x Lady of Honour) 2/10 in the G3 Grafton Cup in Australia. He still needs one more SW to become Stud-Qualified. He will be back racing next year.
[color=red]G.Ch. Office Hours, (3yo, Alley Cat x Wonderful Dreams) 2/11 in the Ung Alex M. Robb Stakes at Aqueduct. She had a very good year, only once finishing out of the first 2 in 13 starts, winning the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint and earning over $2.6m. She will be back racing next year.

[color=red]Golden Cherokee, (2yo, Golden Text x Cherokee Accent) 3/6 in an OA at Aqueduct.
[color=red]Im Not Innocent, (2yo, Secretary x Lost Innocence) 3/6 in an OA at Belmont.

Fourths
[color=blue]Ch. Final Mystery, (3yo, Magic Glory x Lady of Mystery) 4/4 in the G1 Cigar Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. After a very good first half of the year (4 wins & 1 second in his first 7 starts, including a win in the G1 Irish Derby), his form tailed off in the second half of the year (his best placing was one third in 7 starts). Hopefully he will regain his early season form next year.
[color=blue]N.Ch. Worthy Victor, (4yo, Worth My While x Decisive Victory) 4/4 in the G1 Omaha Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. This was his last race before being Retired to Stud for next year.

[color=blue]Too Stressful, (2yo, Stressed x Fan into Flame) 4/7 in an OA at Aqueduct.

Also Ran
[color=red]N.Ch. Hi Honey, (4yo, Foolhardy x Cherokee Accent) 5/8 in the G1 Highland Raven Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. This was her last race before being Retired to Stud for next year.

[color=blue]Ch. Crystal Double, (5yo, Crystal Rainbow x Clear As Crystal) 10/11 in the Ung Alex M. Robb Stakes at Aqueduct.

Not a bad day here.

10(1)-2-3-2-2(1) $79,400

[color=blue]Dakar (3yo, High Chances) broke his maiden in his first race for my stable.

[color=red]Secret Morning (2yo, Government Secret) won an NW2.

[color=blue]Satan’s Secretary (2yo, Worth My While) placed 2nd in an OA, his first race for my stable.

[color=red]Vote For Me (5yo, Candidate) also placed 2nd in an OA.  She’ll keep racing next year.

[color=red]Marys Grace (3yo, Created) placed 2nd in an NW3, behind former stablemate [color=red]Bint Shadayd - congrats, North Oak, on her improved performance for you!

[color=blue]So Naive (3yo, Gunningdownromance) placed 3rd in an OA.

[color=red]Firm Kiss (3yo, Harvard Bound) placed 3rd in a starter allowance.

Also ran:
[color=blue]Mood Indigo (3yo, All Jazzed Up) - 4th in an OA.
[color=red]Llano River (4yo, Irish River) - 7th in an OA.
[color=red]Celtic Lore (3yo, Highland Bandit) - 4th in the Alex M. Robb Stakes.

Additionally, I claimed [color=blue]Falcon Scott (3yo, Highland Wizard), who finished 2nd in his race.  He’s an inch under his minimum expected height, so may still be immature.

5 of 7 hit the board for our final outing of 2017!

[color=red]Tiara Tango (3yo, High On Love) finally breaks her maiden in a NW2 by a phenomenal 22-1/2 lengths. O_O

[color=blue]Nindalf (3yo, Hope to Succeed) ran 2nd/11 in his OA.
[color=blue]Rock Stardom (4yo, Devil May Care) finished 2nd/6 in his Starter Allowance.

[color=red]So She Says (2yo, Rumor Has It) finished 3rd/6 in her NW2 going over 8f for the first time. She did finish with an SF of 100, though! We’re starting to really like all of our Rumor Has It foals, they seem to be the most consistent.

[color=red]Carry the Day (2yo, V is for Victory) managed a 4th/6 in her Maiden.

Two fillies.

[color=red]Ch. Akasha finished 2nd/6 in her last race in Australia.

2yo [color=red]Esprit d’Escalier was 3rd/7 in her NW2 for fillies.
