[color=blue]G.Ch. No Guts No Glory, (4yo, Magic Glory x Risk Away) 2/12 in the G3 Ipswich Cup in Australia. This was his 4th consecutive runner-up placing and means that he has finished either 1st or 2nd in each of his last 8 races. He became the 23rd Starfish horse to go over the $1m mark in earnings for this year.
[color=blue]Ch. Crown of Thorns, (2yo, Call To War x Crowning Glory) 2/6 in an OA in Australia.

[color=blue]Ch. Venture His Due, (3yo, Devil His Due x Risky Venture) 8/9 in the G1 Spectacular Bid Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct.
Not the best day here, but not terrible either. I got some decent performances from mares that I’m going to retire to breed in 2018.
[color=red]Ch. Idlewild (5yo, Jazz It Up) placed 2nd in an OA over jumps. She’ll be bred to Magic Glory in early February, in the hopes of producing a nice steeplechasing baby.
[color=red]Firstgirltoshine (4yo, Cryptic Ballad) also placed 2nd in an OA over jumps. I haven’t made plans to breed her yet, and with this race, she now has 99 points, so I’d really like her to get Champion status before I retire her. Is there a period of time mares need to wait between their last race and breeding?
I had 4 other horses race, but no performances worth mentioning.
Just the three festive runners for us yesterday.
[color=red]In The Loop (4yo As You Wish) won her OA, her 9th win of the year.
[color=blue]Pale Moon Rising (3yo Moonopoly) won his NW3.
After a decent year [color=blue]Sionnach (3yo Giant’s Causeway) finished a dismal 8th in his stakes race.
Five out, one win, and one fourth. Eh.
The one win is a maiden victory by a homebred, though, so that was cool. [color=red]U.R. A Shinin Star is related to a steeplechase stakes winner but her jump trials weren’t very convincing; naturally, she breaks her maiden at 8f on dirt xD
Not a bad day, though not our best:
WINS
[color=red]Demurely (2yo, Highland Magic x Grama’s Prize) won her NW2, putting her 2yo record at 4 (2-1-0).
[color=blue]GCh. Exit Poll (4yo, Irish River x Family Gold) won his OA. There weren’t any suitable stakes races - maybe next time.
[color=blue]GCh. Allinvain (4yo, Worth My While x Alwuhush) won the G1 The Black Breeders’ Stakes. It was his third G1 win, though only his fourth overall stakes win. Hopefully he keeps at it.
SHOWS
[color=blue]GCh. Cuchulain (4yo, Irish River x Au Naturelle) was 3rd in his OA. He also has 4 stakes wins, but I’m not sure if he can hit that magic 7.
[color=blue]Ch. Bear Witness (3yo, Witness x Dreamweaver) was 3rd in the G3 Ipswich Cup against some really tough competition, earning our highest speed factor of the day.
FOURTHS
[color=blue]Ch. Laevateinn (2yo, Sleipnir x Dixie Love) was 4th in the G1 Highland Bandit Breeders’ Stakes.
OFF THE BOARD
GCh. Coquette (3yo, Bellagio x Klondike Nights) was 7th in the G1 Hollywood Queen Breeders’ Stakes, although she earned the second highest speed factor of the day for our team. What a tough race!
