Pretty mediocre day, but I was mainly just throwing all these guys into races to see if any of them felt like running. Everyone from this batch is on their way back to the farm and will be resting well into January, hopefully they’ll have a more successful 2018
Decent day. Happy to claim Naive Shore, who is out of a Gold ranked dam by Gotta Go and a full sibling to a MSW & SW. Looks like Gotta Go was also recently retired I think!
Places: [color=red]House of Cards (2yo, Robin Hood) in a maiden - I think I was planning to let her rest till the end of year… but she has a really good record, even though she’s still winless after 12 races, but usually in the money including a stakes place.
Shows: [color=red]Meva Nit d’Estiu (3yo, Created) in a NW3 Allowance - I should probably retire her… but I had so much fun creating her colour / markings and she has such a lovely name… so I’ll keep her around assuming that she’s just a late blooming amazing steeplechaser… of course.
Fourths: [color=red]Xplicit Glam (2yo, Created) in a maiden - another create born late so also has a reason to be a late bloomer.
Also Rans: [color=red]Fool For Flowers (2yo, I’m No Fool) 8th in the Damon Runyon Stakes (Ungr.) - and I shouldn’t have entered her in stakes just because she won a claimer of course. But I just had to.
Merry Christmas everyone! I’m in the middle of cooking a traditional beetroot soup… and wondering if I can make a little bit less traditional Christmas tree from my homegrown physalis bush the family is divided on this matter
Small pennies but probably our best outing all month. Racing activity is winding down for the rest of the month as most horses either train towards their January debuts, head home to rest, or ready themselves for broodmare duties.
