Not our best day, but at least we were 50% on the board:
6(3) - 1 - 0 - 2(1) - 0
WINS
[color=blue]Copycat (2yo, Mr. Prospective x Slew Copy) won his NW2, putting his 2yo record at 12(1) - 2 - 4(1) - 2 - 1. Not a bad first year! He’s the second and final foal that we have from his dam, whom we (foolishly) sold - along with the only filly we got from her, of course… We still own his 3yo 1/2 brother, GCh. Mimic. Hopefully he will live up to his legacy next year.
SHOWS
[color=red]Art of Love (2yo, High On Love x Art of Zen) won her NW2, putting her 2yo record at 9 -2-0-2-2. Not bad, but not as good as I’d hoped. However, I’m holding on to her as I would love to see her get to the stakes level so I can add a HOL mare to my brood band some day.
[color=red]Ch. D’lightful (4yo, High Chances x D’licious) was 3rd in the G1 Dream Skipper Breeders’ Stakes, putting in a good effort. She’s had quite the year, with a 4yo record of 12(9)-5(2)-2(2)-2(2)-2(2). She’s a game little mare, and I sold her dam to someday make room for her in the brood band. She will run next year.
OFF THE BOARD
GCh. Ducati put in minimal effort, finishing 5th in his OA. I think he was distracted by the fillies - he seems to do better then less there are in his races. So frustrating, as he is SO close to his next title (4 pts). He’s running next year, though, so hopefully he’ll start the new year off with a bang.
Allnighter II ran her first stakes in open company, the ungraded Damon Runyon Stakes, and finished 6th. Her 2yo record is 11(2)-4(1)-2-3-1.
Ch. Always Ladylike was 6th in the ungraded Gallant Fox in open company. She didn’t do as well this year as last, so she isn’t far from retirement. However, I’m hoping to get her to the next title first unless she drastically drops in performance.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Our ponies will be celebrating with extra treats thanks to a spectacular year - they’ve earned it!
And Vimes - a huge congratulations to your win with Peekundercovers. I didn’t have the vision to see that potential in her, so I am SO happy I sold her to you. Clearly she is flourishing under your care!
