We sucked today. I think I entered some too soon since a lot had a month + break. Oh well. I think we’re going to spend the rest of the month training and start racing again in Jan.
Three maiden fillies tried to figure out the racing game… and failed
Fifths: [color=red]Rodarte (2yo, I’m No Fool) in a maiden - she’s born in May and I bought her in October this year, so haven’t had many chances to race… but she has amazing pedigree so I hope next year she’ll shine. [color=red]Yay or Nay (2yo, Frankel) in a maiden - her first start ever, and she was the only one of three fillies in this race who tried to compete with the boys! I think she looks promising.
Also Rans: [color=red]Tosca (2yo, Lord Nelson) 7th in a maiden - she made nine starts this year… and this is not the best one of them
By the way, I just read the news about Cozmic One being retired from racing… too bad he didn’t even break his maiden. I never liked his sire… with his 8 starts and 6 wins… doesn’t compare to Zenyatta’s 20 starts, 19 wins and one 2nd… but Bernardini does look pretty and so is Cozmic One - so maybe he’s just bred to look pretty I wonder what kind of career he’s going to try now!
He’s going to do the Retired Racehorse Project! He went to a trainer that has won the show jumping portion the past 3 years. I’m really excited to follow his career as I’m glad they decided to geld him and not breed. I think he’s going to make a beast of a jumper!
I wish race results stayed on the stable alerts longer - I didn’t get a chance to peek at them so am having to compile this manually. Shanthi has me spoiled - I don’t miss the days of doing this each and every race day!
We sent out mostly 2YOs, so I’m just happy that most of them brought home a paycheck. A lot were entered in races way over their heads just to get a race in, so I expected much worse.
I tried to find that link every possible way hoping Chrome history would catch it and suggest one I’d looked at in the past but no luck.
I tried www.finalfurlong.org/ra (race), re (results), po (post), etc. all with no luck. I’ve now bookmarked the link format JUST IN CASE! Thank you!
