11/22

Surprising day, I would say…

4yo [color=red]Ch. Nadira won an open allowance steeplechase and earned her title. She’ll be bred next year, hopefully to NCh. Von Lichtenstein. So I’m happy that she got to earn a title before then, because we bought her from FF at an auction and she’s been almost inactive for the most part of her racing career.

2yo [color=red]Vanagloria won a claimer and she became our first homebred winner! Yay! She didn’t get claimed.

3yo [color=red]Creme Carmela finished 4th/6 in open allowance steeplechase, and sadly she came back limping. With her so-so racing career and an injury, she would definitely not fit in our breeding program, so we decided to retire her now. We’re happy to have her as a pasture ornament.

2yo [color=red]Serena y Dulce finished 5th/6 in a NW1 for fillies, which is disappointing just after her maiden win. Stablemate [color=red]Doridacea was dead last.

14(4)-8(2)-2-2(1)-1(1) $786,000

Another great day for us. After a total of 5 winners spread out over the first 5 racedays this month, we have had 8 winners on each of the last two racedays. Alyssa’s horses have definitely been a great example for our horses. 12 of today’s 14 runners finished in the first 3 and we had only one runner out of the money. Continued our 100% record with Alyssa’s horses with another winner, our fifth in total.

Wins
[color=blue]G.Ch. Bet On Octagonal, (4yo, Octagonal) in the G1 Doomben Stakes.
[color=blue]N.Ch. Hogsmeade, (4yo, Highland Magic) in the G3 Moonover Boy Breeders’ Stakes. He was winning this race for the second year in a row.
[color=blue]N.Ch. Hogwarts, (5yo, Magic Glory) in an OA.
[color=blue]Ch. Flaming Parachute, (3yo, Major’s Flight) in an OA.
[color=blue]Devil’s Heir, (2yo, Devil His Due) in an NW3.
[color=red]Evening Prayer (Leased from Ivy Creek), (2yo, War Chant) in an NW3.
[color=blue]Gaudy Night, (3yo, Prince of Wonder) in an NW2.
[color=red]Spurs Park Lane, (2yo, Tottenham Hotspur) in an NW1.

Seconds
[color=blue]G.Ch. Glorious Victory, (4yo, Magic Glory) in an OA.
[color=blue]Ch. Crown of Thorns, (3yo, Call To War) in an OA.

Thirds
[color=red]Ch. Ancient Fire, (4yo, Turn n’Burn) in the G1 Doomben Stakes.
[color=blue]Ch. Ministry of Magic, (3yo, Magic Glory) in an OA.

Another reasonable day, probably because there wasn’t any stakes runners  :stuck_out_tongue:

[color=red]Moonshine Lullaby (3yo Highland Wizard) won her NW3.

[color=red]Cloaked (3yo Secretsarebound) was 2nd in her OA.

[color=red]Oryx (4yo Highland Bandit) was 3rd in her OA.

We also claimed [color=red]Wizard Lady (2yo Highland Wizard) who ran 3rd in her race (Shanthi, does she need renaming as we already have a Highland Wizard broodmare called Wizardly Lady?).

Given the age difference, and the fact that your Wizard Lady has already started running, I think it’s ok. Unless you hate the name and want it changed.

It doesn’t matter to me as long as you don’t mind

Looking up a bit still, 8 runners, three winners, two seconds, 2 fourths.
[color=blue]Prince of the Sea  (Prince of Wonder x Lady Admiral) has really found his feet in the latter part of the year and really seems to enjoy the longer distance races, winning his NW2 by a convincing 4 lengths
[color=red]War Dancer (War Chant x Dance for the Lady) won her NW1 by an amazing 9 lengths, Probably due to the extremely wet going which had the field very strung out by the finishing line.
[color=blue]Song of Roland (Chivalry x Coronet) won a close fought NW3. Roland had a very promising 2yo season but like so many of my 2yos has done less well as a 3yo.
[color=red]Heartsease and [color=red]Cool Water both managed respectable seconds in their 2yo races. Again the wet conditions led to very strung out fields, some of the runners clearly hating the going.
