Have we ever had a horse become Stud-Qualified as a 2YO?
I’m sure some of the early studs were qualified as 2yos, since you only needed 7SW at the time. Don’t think we’ve had any under the current requirements though.
I was curious and took a look, but looks like no one has qualified by age 2 before. A few stallions qualified with one year’s races at age 3: King David (14 SW’S at 3), All Jazzed Up (12), Spock (11), As You Wish (9), Drum Major (9), Strike It Rich (9), Prince of Wonder (8 ), Strider (7), and Clockstopper (7).
Closest any horse came was Slip In the Mud with 6 SW’s at 2, and All That Jazz managed 5 SW’s at 2.
