Day of third places.

[color=red]Ch. Crownette finished 3rd/14 in her first steeplechase (open allowance). After several jump trials I decided about this new career for her. She still remains winless after 12 races this year, while also being close to the next title. I’m curious if she can get to become Grand Champion without winning again; anyway, we’ll probably breed her next year.

4yo [color=blue]Hussler finished 3rd/6 in open allowance. The race was probably two furlongs too long.

Excellent day on the whole. Eight out, everyone in the money and five in the first two. Here are the highlights.

[color=blue]NCh Quarren (4yo Sadlers Wells) won the Grade 1 Canadian International, his 9th stakes win. He’s already stud qualified.

[color=blue]GCh Sionnach (3yo Giants Causeway) won the Grade 1 WATC Derby. This is his sixth stakes win.

[color=red]Ch In The Loop (4yo As You Wish) won her OA.

[color=red]Ch Send Me Flowers (4yo Sadlers Wells) won her OA. She needs 6 points to reach GCh.

Not a great day here.

The highlight: [color=red]Comedy Queen (3yo, High Chances) ran 1st in her NW2.  After she set a speed record in the first race after I purchased her, she’s been a bit difficult to get a repeat performance out of.  No speed record today, but I’m pleased with the win.

[color=red]Fights Just Begun (2yo, Rahy) ran 3rd in the Ungraded Maid of the Mist stakes.  I entered her in this race because she ran 4th in her last stakes race, and I was hoping help deciding whether to nominate and enter her in the BC race.  Now I really don’t know what to do!
