10/16

Decent day, including a new stakes winner.

15(5)-4(1)-1-3(1)-1(1) $275,600

WINS:
[color=blue]Holy Ground (2yo, Holy Bull) in a NW3.

[color=blue]Macbeth (3yo, Prince of Wonder) in an OA.

[color=red]Imp (2yo, A.P. Indy) in a maiden.

[color=blue]Atlantic City (3yo, Foolhardy) in the South Pacific Classic.

PLACE:
[color=red]Standing Ovation (2yo, Smart Strike) in a NW2.

SHOWS:
[color=blue]Just Because (2yo, Giant’s Causeway) in a NW3.

[color=red]Apprintice (4yo, Candidate) in an OA.

[color=red]Glorious Romance (3yo, Gunningdownromance) in the Ticonderoga Stakes.

FOURTH:
[color=blue]Jack the Ripper (2yo, Nightfight) in the Visionary Stakes.

My herd is quite reduced after the auction so only one colt raced.

[color=blue]GCh. Al Mundhir finished 3rd/10 in Gr. 1 Meadow Brook Stakes. This is probably his last big race this year. He only needs 3 more stakes wins of any grade and 2 more stakes places of any grade to be stud qualified, and we’re hoping to achieve this next year. Fortunately he shows some talent for long distance races so we’ll be looking for these. His sire Almost Home produced two other stallions: [color=blue]ICh. Almost Precious and [color=blue]GCh. Harvard Bound, while his dam Gilded Sky produced stallion [color=blue]NCh. Hidden Destiny.

Most of our Stable stars and our main hopefuls are being rested up for the Breeders’ Cup so we weren’t expecting any fireworks from today’s runners.

6(4)-0-0-0-1(1) $16,050

Fourths
[color=blue]Ch. Final Mystery, (3yo, ICh. Magic Glory x Lady of Mystery) 4/10 in the Ung Mohawk Stakes at Belmont.

Also Ran
[color=blue]Ch. Crystal Double, (5yo, WCh. Crystal Rainbow x Clear As Crystal) 5/10 in the Ung Hudson Stakes at Belmont.
[color=red]Golden Cherokee, (2yo, NCh. Golden Text x Cherokee Accent) 5/7 in an NW3 at Woodbine.
[color=red]Silver Dreams, (2yo, GCh. Cool Thief x Thinking of Dreams) 5/6 in an NW3 at Belmont.
[color=blue]Gang of Thieves, (2yo, GCh. Cool Thief x Match Me Up) 7/10 in the G1 Visionary Stakes in Australia.
[color=red]Ch. Beautiful Rumor, (4yo, Ch. Rumor Has It x Sunset Beauty) 10/11 in the Ung Ticonderoga Stakes at Belmont.

Only one horse raced today: 1-1-0-0-0 $27,000

[color=red]Crosspoint (4yo, Point Given) put in her best performance since starting to race at the OA level, winning a sprint over turf.

Well, the undercard did well. The stakes ponies like to make me cry. This doesn’t bode well for the BC.

Wins

Arrogance (2yo F, High Chances) won her NW2 against the boys.
After the Storm (2yo C, Long Live the King) won his NW3.
Diadem (3yo F, Strike It Rich) finally won her first race of the year! Whoot!
Kept Woman (2yo F, Long Live the King) finally won after a long drought. She hadn’t hit the board since July.
Bite Your Tongue (2yo F, Foolhardy) won her NW3 against the boys.
Dreams of Glory (4yo M, Magic Glory) likes the long distances. Won 15f over the boys.
Chance of Rain (4yo M, High Chances) won her open allowance

Place
Come Again (2yo F, Rahy) was 2nd against the boys.
Buckets of Rain (3yo F, Irish River) was 2nd against the boys in an OA.
Kingston Coup (4yo, Diplomat) was 2nd behind new stablemate Dreams of Glory.
Lady Vesta (2yo F, Ring of Fire) was 2nd in her maiden.
Exuberant (2yo C, High Chances) was 2nd in his OA. Seems like yet another dam I’m going to come to regret selling. :wink:
Black Cherry (4yo S, High Chances) was 2nd in his ungraded stakes.
City Upon a Hill (3yo C, Crystal Rainbow) was an infuriating 2nd in his ungraded stakes. Boy needs 1 stakes win to qualify. Any stakes win! And he has placed in 3 of his last 4 starts. I mean, seriously, boy.
Repudiate (2yo C, Long Live the King) was 2nd in his Gr. 1.

Show
Spooked (2yo F, Spock) was 3rd in her NW2.
Anarchy (5yo G, High Chances) was 3rd in his OA.
TheLaughoftheMedusa (2yo, Dark Continent) was 3rd in her OA against the boys.
Hydrogen (3yo F, Highland Wizard) was 3rd in her ungraded stakes win.

Overall, it was a good day, though our ponies seemed to either do really well or just dodge the board all together…
Thankfully, more did well than did poorly (and the stakes ponies were all on the CORRECT side of that debate).

12(5) - 4(2) - 5(3) - 0 - 1

WINS

[color=blue]Vive le Roi (2yo, Long Live the King) won his NW3, breaking his maiden.  He’s now 3 (1-1-0).

[color=red]Ch. Brianza (2yo, Bellagio) won her OA, becoming our first 2yo to earn her Ch. title.  She’s 8 (4-2-1), with 3 of those being stakes starts.

[color=blue]Ch. Bear Witness (3yo, Witness) won the ungraded Mohawk Stakes, earning his third stakes win and second speed record.  Watch out for this little grey colt!

[color=blue]GCh. Fight The Twilight (3yo, Nightfight) won the ungraded Hudson Stakes, his fourth stakes win.  He almost always lands in the money, but the winner’s circle isn’t his favorite.  He’ll have to step it up in class if he wants to wind up in the shed some day, because he still doesn’t have a Gr.1 win…

PLACES

[color=blue]Copycat (2yo, Mr. Prospective) was 2nd in his NW2, making his record 9 (0-3-2).

[color=blue]Rahndezvous (2yo, Rahy) was 2nd in his NW3, making his record 5(1-1-0).

[color=red]Ch. Montalvo (3yo, Point Given) was 2nd in the ungraded Iroquois Stakes, earning her Ch. title.

[color=red]Ch. Talkofthetown (3yo, Rumor Has It) was 2nd in the ungraded Ticonderoga Stakes, beating some ladies I didn’t expect her to…

[color=blue]GCh. Exit Poll (4yo, Irish River) was 2nd in the Gr.1 Meadow Brook Stakes.

FOURTHS

[color=blue]Grand Love (2yo, High on Love) was fourth in his NW3.

OFF THE BOARD

Ch. Ciao Bella (4yo, Alley Cat) was 5th in her OA.
Ch. Nicole’s Majic (3yo, A.P. Indy) was 7th in her OA.
