Wins: [color=red]Ch. Filipendulous (3yo, My Lucky Day) in the Palos Verdes Handicap (Gr. 2) - she didn’t have much competition there, lucky filly, but she still could have finished 2nd!
Finally finishing off January, and thankfully on a high note with our first stakes win!
Wins: [color=green]Patrick (5yo, Yes It’s Paddy) in a Starter Allowance [color=blue]Ch. At Last Light (5yo, Lasting Spirit) in the Santa Monica Handicap (Gr. 1) - Super excited to have purchased this guy from the Coleman Branch auction because, fun fact, I played FF another time for a bit back in high school and he’s one of the foals I bred. I don’t think I was ever super active though so when college came around I lost track of FF, but now that I’m done with school I’m so happy to be back I’m really looking forward to how this guy will run going forward!
Also Rans: [color=green]Across the Galaxy (4yo, Galaxy’s Zodiac) 7th in an Allowance. [color=red]Seaburge (3yo, Worth The Wait) 10th in a NW3 Allowance. [color=blue]GCh. Bracton (8yo, Rumor Has It) 7th in the Mac Diarmida Handicap (Gr. 3). Come on, pony. One win. That’s all you need (longer rest/training and an allowance next time). [color=blue]GCh. Sandman (6yo, Nightfight) 8th in the Spring Stakes (Gr. 3). [color=blue]Ch. Sargeras (3yo, Dr. Evil) 6th in the Newcastle Gold Cup (Gr. 3).
I didn’t get a chance to enter many for this raceday. Our finish percentages are pretty even (16, 16, 15, 14) but considering our overall win percentage over the years is 30%, this feels pretty dismal. Hopefully we can make a turnaround before those unpredictable 2YOs come out to try their luck!
Fifths: [color=red]Louboutin (3yo, I’m No Fool) in the Sunshine Millions Oaks (Gr. 1). Shelbie convinced me to keep her in this race. Damnit lolol I made an oops with her a few weeks ago and shipped her to Aqueduct by road when I meant to ship another horse. STUPID. Should have waited but I guess 5th isn’t terrible considering she only trained for a few days after being off for like a week and a half.
I am also one of those young people who left due to school/life reasons but couldn’t stay away and came back. You’ve got a wonderful game and community here, Shanthi!
