So far our guy seems very chill on the prey drive, which is good with the cats. (They’re being especially dim and constantly get in his way when we’re not in the lounge, so it’s lucky for them that he just wants to stare/sniff at them. Hopefully that continues as he settles in and gets his bearings, as he may be artificially calm (from nerves/being overwhelmed) right now.

He may ignore them as long as they move slowly… Kermit doesn’t seem to notice the cat in another house when we visit, but this is because the cat is usually still or walking. He also meets a yorkie in the garden, and the yorkie learned to freeze when he doesn’t want to be chased.
Also, Kermit seems very different from reactive border collies, which chase cars, children, bikes… he ignores them all. He likes to spook birds (I can recall him from that) but it’s impossible to recall him from deer; he will chase them as long as he can see them (this happened once… he was wearing a muzzle and came back to me when the deer disappeared in tall grass).

So far he’s seen the cats still and moving (including running madcap across the field) - he’s very interested in seeing what they’re doing, but makes no move to chase. I’m pretty impressed that he doesn’t react to them outside, as most seem to get used to them inside but all bets are off when outdoors.
