Productive (if highly frustrating) day. :smiley: :lol: 8)

Horses now gain sustain as they race (so be warned, horses may not always be able to use their full sustain amount in a race).

Horses and jockeys have happiness scores.

Horses will fight their jockey if they’re unhappy/pissy.

Very cool Shanthi. I am excited about the upcoming season in 2010. Although, I am a bit nervous, as there are many changes to think about. But, these changes are great, and being I’m still relatively new, it shouldn’t be a very difficult adjustment for me . Anyway, I hope that everything goes nice and smooth for you while dealing with all the new changes. :smiley:

Horses now break from the gate at various speeds/times. Your horse may take anywhere from 0.1 to 5.0 seconds to leave the gate, and may start at 50-90% of their minimum stride length (before accelerating to a faster speed, obviously),

Got a little bit done yesterday…today I start vacation for a few days (yay, no boring work!), so hopefully I can crank out more code.

No promises on being done by January 1, though. :?

I am almost DONE with the code that runs races. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

It now:

  • runs the race
  • verifies that the race looks ok (with margins and such)
  • writes the basic race info to the database

As you can see from the to-do list, I still have a handful of things left to do, but hopefully those won’t take too long. (The test script writing/varifying will likely take the longest…)

So…yay!

(Then, of course, it’s on to writing training code. A coder’s job is never done ;-))
