Ugh, not a good week with the third stillborn. Sheza Sheila also promptly retired so unfortunately there’s no second chance for this breeding. Thankfully she leaves behind 10 foals inclusing 2 MSW’s and 2 SP’s. Fingers crossed this is it for this breeding season.

As there’s a 1 in 300 chance of a foal being a stillborn and Gotapa’s up to 4 in 30 foals already I’m concluding that luck is not on our side this breeding season. Hopefully it just means we’re lucky with the talent of the foals that are born healthy, lol.

So sorry to hear of the rough start to the season! This year has been a bit more rough than previous for us as well with 60 foals on the ground but with 4 stillborns and 2 mare deaths already. Fingers crossed the healthy babies will grow up to be rockstars!!
Thank you all! Fingers crossed this trend doesn’t continue through the rest of the season! We did get an extra surprise foal indeed and a good looking bunch of healthy foals so we’ll focus on that!
