Generous Bloodstock 2017 foals

Lovely Unabridged filly! I wish you the best of luck with her.

Unabridged produces many grey/dark grey babies. It’s very rare for a foal of his not to be!  :wink:

Love the names :slight_smile:

Not such good news today as Just Like Ice foaled a stillborn filly by Ring Of Fire :frowning:  This would have been her first foal. Thankfully the mare is ok and we’ll keep everything crossed for next year. She’s being bred back to ROF.

Sorry about your foal. :frowning: I hope next year’s baby is healthy!

Me too - I wanted to pair them together while Ice was still racing but hopefully next year will be better.

Sorry for your loss

Better news today with two healthy fillies arriving overnight.

[color=red]Melody Maker
WCh All Jazzed Up (B) x Ch I. B. Ready (S) (AP Indy)

9.2h Bay Filly. Half to one SW and two SP runners. Dam is MSW, MSP. Bred by FF and named after a British music publication which started out focusing on Jazz music. Dam is a half-sister to the dam’s of ICh What’s Your Point and ICh Witness.

[color=red]Waltzing Matilda
NCh I’m A Classic (S) x Dance For Me (S) (False Promises)

8.2h Bay Filly. Half to several stakes level performers. All foals to race are winners with the exception of one that suffered a broken leg on his only start. Dam is a half-sister to WCh Worth My Time and GCh Kichiro. From her sire’s final crop.

Love Waltzing Matilda.

I love seeing all these I’m a Classic foals being born, even if it is also a bit nostalgic. Love the name Melody Maker.

Cute babies

Two healthy colts arrived overnight, both from maiden mares, and all four look happy and healthy  :slight_smile:

[color=blue]Monarch O’The Glen
NCh Slew O’Scots (S) x Star Song (Cigar)
8.3h Black colt. Dam kindly leased from Darkwood Stables. Dam was MW, MP on the track. The two runners from this sire/broodmare sire cross has produced the stud To Die For and stud qualified Edinburgh so hopefully this guy might have some talent.

[color=blue]Royal Mint
WCh What’s Debatable x British Pounds (Sadlers Wells)
9.3h Chestnut Colt. Dam was stakes placed at 2 in an otherwise uneventful career on the track. Her sire is gold-ranked as a sire but has no BM rating yet. From his sire’s final crop, he looks like dad so here’s hoping he’ll run more like him than mum. Named after the place where they make all the British coins.

Nice boys! :slight_smile:

Lovely foals. Congrats on the Slew colt.

Nice colts

Seems they like arriving in pairs  :slight_smile:

[color=blue]Corsiero
WCh Brigade x Stay Forever (Those Will Do)
8.1h Grey colt. 3rd foal for SW dam. First foal should start this year. From his sire’s first crop. Brigade was an excellent runner and is from the Sadlers Wells line that I like so much. We also have a MSW half-sister to mum by Sadlers Wells so this might be a nice cross. Corsiero is Italian for ‘battle horse’. Mum will now visit another Sadlers Wells son, Changeling.

[color=red]Sanderling
NCh Joyeux Oiseau x Ch Pleasure Cruise (B)
9.2h Flea-bitten grey filly. Dam has three foals to race - one MSP, one MW, MP and an unplaced 3yo. She was a MSW at 5. Sire was also a late bloomer but ran very well at 4, 5 and 6. Two created parents means it’s difficult to judge how this little girl might run. Named after a small but very pretty wading bird. Mum visits Unabridged next.

Love the names. :slight_smile:

Thank you :slight_smile:

Congrats on the healthy Joy baby!

Thank you :slight_smile:

Again, another pair to report.

[color=blue]Merenptah
Oscillation x Ch Isetnofret (Akhetnaten)
9.2h Bay Colt. Locheido Bred. Third foal for his MSP dam, a granddaughter of the great American Black. Her oldest is now two and should debut this year. Named after the RL Isetnofret’s son (well, according to Wikipedia anyway). Dad has sired some nice runners from his early crops, all of which were relatively small.

[color=red]Got The Giggles
ICh Sleipnir x Ch Comedienne (Giants Causeway)
9.1h Black filly. First foal for SW, MSP dam. A week overdue but nonetheless a good size considering mum and dad are only 15.1h and 15h respectively. Mum won a Grade 1 as a 2yo and came to us from the select auction as a 3yo. She’d already been switched to SC but managed some wins for us and we’re excited to see how Giggles does. Sleipnir’s first 2yo run this year.

Both mares will now visit home stud Blue Smoke.

Love the names. :slight_smile:
