I bought the mare Golden Globes from Generous Bloodstock when she was in foal, but after she foaled I only got a notification that she’s unbred now, and the foal belongs to Generous Bloodstock. Shouldn’t it belong to the new owner of the mare?
Yes, foals go with their dam. If seller/buyer want a different deal, the buyer has to sell the foal back to the seller post-foaling.
Do you remember whether this sale was done in the old app or the new one?
In the old app, I think it was their auction…
It was from auction and I’m pretty sure you’re right regarding it being in the old site. Sorry, I hadn’t spotted that one was still lurking amongst my weanlings (I am ridiculously behind in naming yearlings, never mind the weanlings!).
That’s okay, I noticed there wasn’t any info about expected foals, but I didn’t have any foals from my mares due this year, so I was just hoping that yours will magically show up at my barn anyway ![]()
Is is easiest for you @Shanthi if I just set this foal up for sale to Hilda? I am assuming it will let me set sale fee as $0.
I think it won’t let you sell weanlings until they’re 3mos old, but if it’ll let you, feel free. ![]()
You’re right, no option to sell at the moment.
@Hilda_with_Clicker - remind me if I’ve not set up a free sale to you in the next few months! I’ve given him a name to help me remember!
@Hilda_with_Clicker I’ve updated his ownership to you
I also have this problem. I bought Sea Salt in foal from Black Storm and I just noticed she foaled but the foal is owned by Black Storm.
This should be fixed for all upcoming foals. I did accidentally move foals to the new mare owners when they were already born at time of sale, but I think I’ve un-done all that now.
Thanks! I think I’ll keep the name Hilda’s Horse
he’s probably my only foal this year, anyway!
