This is the second foal from this dam who is full twin sister to the new stallion Irish Gold, and is a multi G1 winner herself. 3/4 of this fillies grandparents are gold rated with the exception of Irish River who I don’t really consider an exception. 
I don’t have a particular reason for her name. Just liked it I guess.

This is the third foal from this gigantic 17.3H mare. Her first by, Strike It Rich, will start this year. The only thing we really have to go on is that she has a great daddy and is gorgeous. When I looked at her little virtual picture I thought she looked so unique. If that’s possible.

A bitter sweet day today at CDS. Our prized broodmare NCh. Cross My Heart went into labor this morning and gave birth to a very strapping and healthy colt (only the third colt of 11 foals!). Cross My Heart didn’t bounce back from the birth like she usually did, though, and just seemed exhausted. After much deliberation amongst the staff here at CDS we decided it was time to retire Cross My Heart and let her live out the rest of her days here in peace. We would rather have her happy and healthy for years to come than risk losing her next year. So with that we have NCh. Cross Your Heart’s last foal to introduce today…

This time I couldn’t be more happy we ended up with a colt. Of eleven foals out of Cross My Heart he is only the third. We felt The Black and Cross Roads would be a great match as well as the Lymerick, Miss Hayday, and Heart’s Blood Dam lines. His half brother WCh. As You Wish will hopefully give him some pointers the next couple years because we would love to be able to stand this guy later on. He’s also half to MSW GCh. Spell Breaker, SW Ch. Leopold, SW Spirit Of Love, SP Ch. Arizona Dream, and winners Only The Lonely and Winterhart.
His name was carefully chosen to reflect his heritage and heart. Kearney is an Irish name with the meaning of “Victorious Champion” and only thought it was fitting for this mares last foal. Cross My Heart is retiring with a breed ranking of 9.4 Gold, eleven foals, and at 15 years of age.

Thank you. I hope she does too. I just felt so lucky to have got her from Storybook. Now it will be interesting to see what happens with my 18, 20 and 22 year olds this year. They are like my little band of golden girls with 37 foals between the 3 of them.

We just love the dapple greys and this little girl is so pretty with out any white on her. She is half to 3 winners with one being SP. We got this unraced created mare at auction for a cheap price and can’t wait to see what else she produces.

This filly is the 3rd foal from this dam. We feel fortunate to have a broodmare to carry on the Wonder’s Miracle line making her half to NCh. Gotta Be A Natural. Can’t wait to see what the Smart Strike babies do!
