Sent out 5 and only 2 did anything at all. Not what I needed after paying a BC nomination.
I am happy that my 2yo, [color=blue]Candied Roses (What’s Your Point), ran 2nd/9 in his Maiden after an equipment change.
[color=red]Ordinarily Yours finished 3rd/6 in a NW3.
Both these fillies have great pedigrees and a lot of style. Also, our Color War team Soylent Green collected a nice win with our 2yo filly [color=red]Sunburned Explorer. Very exciting!
Sent out 12 and 5 brought home checks, don’t know what’s happened to my stakes ponies!
Win
[color=blue]Whatsinaname (worth my while) in a mixed 2yo Nw-3, by a length
Shows
[color=red]Breakthrough in a 10f Nw-3 for 3+ f/m
[color=blue]ikari a 3yo auction purchase in his 3rd ever race, now he’s up to condition I’m anxious to see what he can do
4ths
[color=red]Twilight Haze (Octagonal) in an Nw-2 for 2/f
[color=blue]Highland Velvet in a short OA, think he needed more running room.
Winners [color=red]Ch. Leoness, (4yo, Alley Cat x Blazin’ Hearts) 1/10 in an OA at Arlington. Earned her Champion status with this win. [color=red]GCh. Big Dawn, (4yo, Rumor Has It x Sudden Success) 1/14 in the G3 Noble Damsel Stakes at Belmont. Her 7th win for the year, all SW and all in her last 7 races. She will be sent home for a rest then back to Belmont for the Breeder’s Cup.
Second [color=red]American Dance, (3yo, Almost Home x Northern Sister) 2/6 in an OA at Belmont.
Third [color=blue]Crystal Double, (4yo, Crystal Rainbow x Clear As Crystal) 3/8 in an OA at Belmont.
Also Ran [color=green]Hayden, (5yo, Magic Glory x American Rhapsody) 6/6 in an OA in Australia. [color=red]Illusive Diamond, (4yo, Northern Dancer x War Mistress) 9/10 in an OA at Calder. [color=green]Ch. Half Baked, (5yo, No Duplicate x Is She High) 12/12 in a Clm at Belmont. [color=blue]Mr. Cowboy, (2yo, Turn n’Burn x A Firm Thing) 9/11 in an NW3 at Arlington. [color=red]Mirror Twin, (2yo, Harvard Bound x Backwards Image) 5/9 in an NW2 at Belmont. A disappointing performance. She will be have one more race then will be sent home for a rest. If she performs better in her next race, then she will come back to Belmont for the Breeder’s Cup.
Both [color=green]Hayden and [color=green]Ch. Half Baked continue to be major disappointments and obviously are not interested in racing anymore. We have decided to cut our losses with them and, as such, they have both been retired from racing.
[color=red]Delightful Queen is one of my successful mixed auction purchases. She ran in 10.0f NW3 Allowance for 3yo+ F/M (D) and placed 1st/6.
[color=red]She’s Gawne ran in 7.5f Maiden for 3yo (SC) and placed 2nd/6.
My first homebred [color=red]Ch. Cathedral ran in 12.5f Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 2nd/10. Proud of her!
[color=green]Surak ran in 9.0f Claiming ($10,000) for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 5th/12. I was slightly surprised he didn’t get claimed, but I guess no one wanted an old gelding steeplechaser.
Really can’t complain, with 7 out and 6 in the money.
[color=red]Detecting seemed to enjoy a surface switch with the addition of some equipment as she won her 11f NW3 for 3yo. 1st/6
Hopefully we’ve finally found the right distance/equipment combination for [color=blue]No Second Chances, as he finally found the winner’s circle on his 12th try - a NW2 for 3yo+. 1st/6
[color=blue]Pay the Boatman continues to look good, wiring the field in his NW2 for 2yo, his second win in a row. 1st/9
[color=red]Moonlight Sonnet may not have been quite prepared for the distance, but she still finished strong in her NW3 for 3yo+F. 2nd/6
[color=blue]Second Heartbeat has his heart set on earning money each time he runs this year. Perhaps an equipment adjustment is necessary to improve on his finish in NW2 for 4yo+ over the jumps. 2nd/6
[color=blue]Runaway War ran away with a win last time out, but just did manage to hit the board in his latest, a NW3 for 2yo. 3rd/11
Lastly, we’re still trying to figure out [color=blue]Forest Guardian, though he definitely seems to like the surface. We’ll keep adjusting. 11th/12
