Another pretty good day here.
Exclamation Point made her first start for us and her 2nd career start overall today as a 3yo. Her first start as a 2yo she unimpressed so she was put away for the season. We bought her in the beginning of August and sent her to the farm for a few weeks then brought her back to get her ready for her first start in over a year. She impressed all of us by not only winning but putting up a monster speed figure and setting a speed record. Now we’ll have to see if she really is that impressive or if the game is toying with us.
Cassandra broke out with a win today in her fourth career start. We’ve noticed in the past month all of our 2yo’s have been waking up which is a very nice thing to see. I’ve been racing them much more lightly than I have been in previous years and I think/hope they appreciate that.
Good week for us. Not spectacular, but good.
Timbuktu is back in winning form. He won his NW3, Queen of Sheba came in 3rd.
Maya and Demand the Best went 1-2 in their OA. I know Demand’s never going to be back to his old form, but it’s good to see he can still bring home a paycheck.
Dagnabit was 3rd in her OA against the boys.
Long Island 88 was 2nd in her NW3.
Unconditional Love won his NW2, and Black Cherry came in 5th.
Our stakes ponies were slight disappointments.
Initforthelonghaul came in 3rd in the Gr. 2 Reisling Slipper Trial.
Lonely Victor was 4th in the Todman Slipper Trial.
Our first race day after a short break. Good luck to Knight Arrow Farm with [color=red]Niezapominajka which they claimed today!
[color=red]Ch. Summer Morning - 1st in 14.0f Allowance for 3yo+ fillies and mares. This 4yo mare definetely had her day today and it’s nice to see that she can compete in a long steeplechase race.
[color=red]Belleau Wood - 2nd in her NW2 allowance sprint. That’s her first placing this year and second race for us. She seems to prefer short distances. [color=red]Traveling Prospect was 4th in this race. She prefers fast track and this was wet.
[color=red]Golden Moon - 5th in NW3 allowance, first time with wraps. It’s her first race after an injury so that’s ok.
[color=blue]Running Hoplite - 8th in Todman Slipper Trial for 2yo C. It was a bit too early for him to run in such a big race, so we’re now sending him home from… Australia (where we claimed him).
Wow, okay. 6 out, best finish was a pair of 5ths.
Sent ten out and only 3 came home with no check, and of course it was my moody stakes mares! Must be in heat and being brats!
[color=red]Vivian Leigh-(alley cat)7.5f NW2 Allow,2yo F, T - W, [color=red]2nd she fell into second and stayed there the whole race

[color=green]O Mercy Me-9.0f Allow,3yo+, T- W, [color=green]3rd He got snipped before the race and it improved his distraction
[color=red]Mad Love-9.5f Allow,4yo+ F,D- G,[color=red]5th moody mare
[color=blue]SugarHearts Secret-(as you wish)5.0f Maiden 2yo,T-G,[color=blue]14th not sure about him he was home for a while due to injury,think he could use longer distance for one,maybe equip. Change
[color=blue]Pharaoh’s Fire-(Ring of fire)7.0f NW2 Allow, 2yo, T- W, [color=blue]2nd fell in behind the front runner and just stayed there
[color=red]Supersonic-7.0f NW3 Allow, 4yo+ F, SC - G, [color=red]1st she has done better since switching to SC
[color=red]Highland Priestess-7.0f Gr. 3 Noble Damsel Stakes 3yo+ F, T-W, [color=red]10th think she needs a rest 2 weeks is too short now I guess or she was in a mood,or the sloppy turf
[color=red]Double Shot-8.5f Ungr. Ashley T. Cole Stakes for 3yo+,T-W, [color=red]6th don’t know what’s up with her attitude, maybe a trip home for a week or two, or again sloppy turf
10(2)-1-2-1-0 $52,900
Ok day for us, sent 3 out and everyone was in the money.
Quick Lemon ran 2nd in a $10,000 SC. He hasn’t been running good at all and this was his first time on SC. Maybe i’ll give him a second chance
Who’d a Thowt it ran 3rd in the same SC claimer, he was claimed
Wasn’t Me ran 3rd in her SC allowance.
[color=blue]Two Moons didn’t fair well against strong company, with a sad 11th place added to his record in his last 8.5 f Ungraded Stakes. Too early yet to throw him into tougher races I suppose. Sigh.
[color=red]Far Fetched came in 4th in her 6 f NW2 Allowance. In the money, so we can’t complain. She kept us afloat this week. It looks like we’re going to have to try harder to figure out our horses or start having bread and water for dinner. Yikes.
