8/4

Not bad. Some of our best fillies competed today and they all made some money, although only one won.

[color=red]Shadow In The Dark won her starter allowance after many races without a win. I hope that not only because the race was slow enough for her

My only two purchases from the Annual Mixed Auction, [color=red]Cabernet and [color=red]Ellejolet finished 4th and 5th in their very first race, which was a NW1 allowance for 3yo fillies. They earned the same speed figure.

Other two fillies entered the ungraded Yaddo Stakes. [color=red]Alchaasibiyeh, by ICh. Alley Cat (B), finished 2nd. It was her first stakes race, after a long time of very mixed results. She seems to mature late. The other one was [color=red]GCh. The Woman In Black and she finished 3rd. I hope that sheā€™s not slowing down for good. Looks like she didnā€™t earn such a high speed figure this year; still, Iā€™m surprised that Alchaasibiyeh was better in this race.

Another fabulous day!

WINS

3YO homebred [color=blue]Imprimis (x King David) finally lived up to his name (ā€œin first placeā€), breaking his maiden over hurdles.Ā  He earned a speed record for his effort.Ā  3YO leased mare, [color=red]Never Doubt (x No Duplicate) ran 3rd in the same race, keeping her maidenhood.

2YO homebred [color=blue]Zadar (x Whatā€™s Your Point) had his first start, and broke his maiden.Ā  Heā€™s the first foal to hit the track from his dam, and of course I sold her (congrats to Clicker Lab on that wise purchase).Ā  Thankfully, Iā€™ve kept two of his half sisters.

3YO [color=red]Always Ladylike (x Giantā€™s Causeway, from our mare) broke her maiden after a change of equipment and strategy.

4YO leased mare [color=red]Kissing Point (x Point Given) won - for the third time in a row.Ā  I think itā€™s safe to say that weā€™ve figured her out.Ā  :slight_smile:Ā  Thank goodness sheā€™ll be with us through the end of the year.

4YO homebred [color=red]Oh So Proud (x Highland Pride) is now a stakes winner - she took first in the ungraded Osunitas Handicap and earned a speed record, to boot.

PLACES - none

SHOWS

In addition to Never Doubtā€™s show, 2YO homebred [color=blue]Whiskey Charmer (x Silver Charm) ran 3rd in a NW3, even though he remains a maiden.

Two purchased colts were off the board - Dawsonā€™s Rudge and Nazgul.

I picked the topic that came first, haha.

Had a wide range of results today!

These horses all had their first race for my stable after being purchased from the mixed auction.Ā

[color=blue]Evil Rumors ran in 8.5f NW2 Allowance for 4yo+ (D) and placed 1st/6. Great start to his year!

[color=blue]GoToThe Devil ran in 8.5f Allowance for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 2nd/7. Glad he earned a little bit toward his flight to the States!

[color=blue]Bold Dreams ran in 11.0f NW2 Allowance for 3yo+ (T) and placed 3rd/6.

[color=blue]All Is Holy ran in 11.5f Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 5th/8. At least he brought a check!

[color=blue]Easy Launch ran in 9.5f Allowance for 4yo+ (D) and placed 14th/14. Iā€™m really kind of disappointed with this because I was looking forward to running this guy.

These two guys Iā€™ve owned for a while.

[color=blue]Virginia Challenge ran in 10.0f NW1 Allowance for 3yo (SC) and placed 4th/8. Anything that shows up on his record is good at this point. If he doesnā€™t improve by the time heā€™s a 4yo, he may lose his manhood.

[color=green]Surak ran in 7.0f Allowance for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 8th/9. Good thing he only cost $500.

Did pretty well, considering I had every money-making place between all my horses (1-5).

Very strange day! My most consistant filly decided to just take a jog in a stakes of course, and as for the rest only 1 brought home a check. 9 horses out!Ā  :stuck_out_tongue:

[color=blue]Scooter Blues 4yo I got from the auction for the fun of it, hasnā€™t run since new yrs eve. In an nw-1,12f, wet, SC he Wins! he definately coverd his cost of $1k plus some.

Rubbish day, two 2nds from seven runners. But we did claim a 2yo Highland Wizard filly out of a nice mare so pleased with that.

I looked at her but I have way tooooo many girls! Lol

Me too but I canā€™t resist a Wizard filly

Sent out 8 and half hit the board, with two wins! I think weā€™ve already done better this month than all of July, haha.

WIN
[color=blue]Celebroch was switched to the turf and won by 3/4 lengths in a NW3 against 7 others. This makes me really happy since we picked him up for just 1k from the Mixed Auction and he bombed in his first start. Grass it is!
[color=blue]Glorioso took his OA by a crushing 4-1/4 lengths against 7. Might give stakes another go.

SHOW
[color=blue]Paris Song (2yo, A.P. Indy) in a NW2 against 12.

4th
[color=blue]Glory of Love in an OA against 9.

Sad that [color=red]Ekosian just bombed for no reason. Sheā€™s been really, really well all year then did nothing today. Another mixed auction purchase, [color=red]Witchā€™s Point, bombed in her debut but weā€™re still fiddling with her.

11 runners sent out, 2 wins, 3 seconds, 2 thirds, 1 fourth, 3 others.

Winners
[color=blue]Hogwarts, (3yo, Magic Glory) 1/6 in an NW3 at Saratoga.
[color=blue]Ch. First Born Son, (3yo, Ring of Fire) 1/8 in the G3 La Jolla Handicap at Del Mar. The first foal born at the Farm. His 5th win, including 3 SW (1 G1W) - all this year.

Seconds
[color=blue]Superdocious, (2yo, Worth the Wait) 2/7 in an NW2 in Australia.
[color=blue]Star of Wonder, (2yo, Harvard Bound) 2/8 in an NW3 at Woodbine.
[color=red]Moonyā€™s Fancy, (3yo, Moonopoly) 2/11 in the Ung Osunitas Handicap at Del Mar.

Thirds
[color=blue]Last For More, (2yo, Lasting Spirit) 3/11 in an Mdn at Calder. His first race since he was purchased at the Mixed Auction.

Fourth
[color=blue]DoubleOrNothing, (5yo, A.P. Indy) 4/14 in an OA at Woodbine.

[color=red]Magic Topaz, (2yo, Magic Glory) 6/9 in an NW3 at Arlington.
[color=red]Exquisite, (4yo, Easy Goer) 6/6 in an NW2 at Arlington.
[color=red]Beautiful Rumor, (3yo, Rumor Has It) 8/8 in an NW3 at Arlington.
