8/1

Unprecedented day - our stakes ponies outperformed our non-stakes ones! Also - ALL of our stakes ponies brought home a paycheck, woo!

Wins:
[color=red]Gift of Gold (2yo, Giant’s Causeway) in the Sorrento Stakes. She’s still undefeated. :smiley:

[color=red]A Capella (What’s Debatable) in the Clement L. Hirsch Handicap, for her first stakes win. :smiley:

[color=red]Cloch

Yay for champion fillies! They’re all doing good.

[color=red]Ch. She’s Outlawed 2nd/11 in Sorrento Stakes, her first stakes entry. Congrats, Shanthi, for the win! :wink:

[color=red]Ch. Crownette finished 3rd/12 in open allowance. Not sure why she stopped winning, though. Maybe she doesn’t like mud.

Thanks! I’m wondering when she’ll slow down, but happy she hasn’t yet.

Not too bad, 4 of 7 hit the board!

PLACE
[color=red]Temple Maid (2yo, Worth My While) against 14 in a NW2.
[color=green]To Alaska against 7 in his OA.

4th
[color=red]As You See (As You Wish) in an OA against 12.
[color=green]Candied Roses (2yo, What’s Your Point) in a Maiden against 14.

Only 3 out today, 2 did well!

[color=red]Supa Kwik (4yo, High Chances) ran 2nd/14 in a SC allowance. I’m glad I finally switched her to SC, I was nervous at first, thinking she was a late bloomer but clearly she just wanted to jump!

[color=red]Heaven’s Halo (2yo, Ring Of Fire) made her debut in a NW2 allowance and she WON it! I started her later in the season because she was so short earlier in the season, she grew and was clearly ready to run!

12 runners sent out, 4 winners, 2 seconds, 1 third, & 1 fourth.

Winners
[color=red]Ch. Play My Game, (5yo, Magic Glory) 1/11 in an OA in England.
[color=blue]GCh. Lucky Sunset, (5yo, Red Sunset) 1/10 in the G3 Arlington Handicap at Arlington. His third consecutive Stakes win, he only needs two more to be stud-qualified.
[color=blue]GCh. Worthy Victor, (3yo, Worth my While) 1/10 in the G1 St. Leger Stakes in England. After this win, he is now stud-qualified. He won the last two legs of the English Triple Crown and, if I’d been smart and not run him in the Irish 2,000 Guineas (which he won) four days before he ran in the English 2,000 Guineas (in which he was last), maybe he would have won all three legs.
[color=blue]Ch. Painted Raven, (4yo, Slew O’ Scots) 1/11 in the G1 King George VI Chase in England. His fourth Stakes Win (all this year), so he is another one of our horses who could be stud-qualified.

Seconds
[color=red]Office Hours (L), (2yo, Alley Cat) 2/6 in an NW3 at Calder.
[color=red]Princess Kaiulani, (4yo, Worth the Wait) 2/10 in the G3 Modesty Handicap at Arlington.

Third
[color=blue]Take Flight, (4yo, Major’s Flight) 3/8 in an OA at Arlington.

Fourth
[color=blue]Contristo (L), (3yo, Stressed) 4/10 in an NW3 at Saratoga.

Others
[color=blue]Hogsmeade, (2yo, Highland Magic) 5/6 in an NW2 at Calder.
[color=red]Hail to Victory, (5yo, Magic Glory) 11/11 in an OA at Saratoga.
[color=green]Half Baked, (5yo, No Duplicate) 8/8 in an OA at Arlington.
[color=red]Flight of Silk, (2yo, Major’s Flight) 9/11 in the G2 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar.

Congrats!

Not a great day, lots of dissapointments, a few did manage a good finish

Places
[color=red]Breakthrough in a 3yo mixed company OA
[color=red]Journeys End in a mixed SC, OA ,11f, only filly in top 3.

Shows
[color=red]Vivian Leigh in an NW-3 for 3/f

4th
[color=blue]Tomahawks I’ve discovered he no longer likes anything less than 15f.  In te G-1 King George chase, he also rn just 12 dys earlier in the Irish stakes. He’s being sent stateside for the rest of the year. Possibly supplemented into the BC. We will see how he performs stateside.

Most just were blah,
[color=red]Sheza Firework (chivalry) who’s never been less than 4th in 6 starts before now, was just off in 6th place.

Everyone’s performance was disappointing.

[color=red]Eloquence got back on her feet after some swelling in her left front leg. She ran in 11.0f Allowance for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 6th/8.

[color=blue]Gallant Affair ran in 15.0f Allowance for 4yo+ (D) and placed 3rd/11. He was the only one with a paycheck.

I bought [color=red]Nautilus on a whim a few days ago. She ran for me for the first time in 6.5f Maiden for 2yo F (T) and placed 14th/14. She’s at home to enjoy her youth a while longer. She’s a create so I have no idea how tall she’s supposed to be.

The other one I bought at the same time, [color=red]Secretsofthesky ran in 6.0f NW2 Allowance for 2yo F (T) and placed 6th/6. She’s at the bottom of her projected range, so we’ll see if she gets any taller. She’s also been sent home to enjoy her youth a while.

[color=green]Prometheus ran in 7.0f Allowance for 4yo+ (SC) and placed 8th/14. This guy never should have been switched to steeplechasing.

There, I even talked about the embarrassing ones.

Not a bad day. No winners but all three out bought home a cheque.

[color=blue]Archaeopteryx ran 2nd in his NW3. 1 win and 4 seconds in five starts isn’t bad I guess.

[color=blue]Baringa continued his march towards GCh status by finishing 2nd, again, in the King George Stakes Grade 1. Only 16 points to go.

[color=blue]Quarren was also in the money, finishing 3rd in the St Leger Stakes Grade 1.

Pretty good day, all around - sent out 11, and only one failed to bring home a check:

2YO homebred [color=blue]Mimic (x I’m Your Angel) WON, breaking his maiden on his 4th attempt.  After some feedback from his jockey, we added blinkers, and that seems to have done the trick.  His half-sister is a stakes winner and his sire is no slouch, so I’m excited to see what this fellow can do over time.

2YO homebred [color=red]Queen Catarina (x King David) won her NW3.  This is her 4th win from 5 starts (and 4th win in a row).  I really, really need to get this lady to a stakes race soon…  Her half-brother is a stakes winner.

2YO homebred [color=red]Sweet Home Alabama (x I’m A Classic) had her first ever start, and she WON, breaking her maiden on the first shot, AND earning a speed record  :astonished:.  Wow.

3YO homebred [color=red]With A Fleurish (x Gimme A Shot) is officially a stakes winner now, crossing the wire first in the G3 Modesty Handicap.  I’m glad we’re finally figuring this little lady out!

2YO homebred [color=red]Worth A Treasure (x Worth My While) made her first attempt today as well, and also WON.  I was hoping the Worth/Rogue cross, though distant, would shine through…

2YO [color=red]Montalvo (x Point Given) ran second in her NW2.  That’s two-in-a-row consistant finishes now that we’ve switched her to turf.  Definitely worth her $1k price tag last spring.

2YO homebred [color=red]Singsong (x Rahy) ran second in her NW1.  Her record is now 7 starts, (1-6-0).  I just can’t figure out why she doesn’t like the winner’s circle…

2YO homebred [color=red]Alakazam (x Highland Magic) ran 5th in her NW2.  She has won before, but tends to finish off the board for some reason…

2YO homebred [color=red]Coquette (x Bellagio), who is stakes placed, attempted another stakes start, but only finished 5th in the G2 Sorrento Stakes.  At least it was a pretty close race - I’m happy knowing that she has talent to that degree.

2YO homebred [color=red]Holy Smokes (x Holy Bull) ran 5th in her NW2, but it was her first ever start.  She’s got plenty of time.

Only Laudri (2YO, Point Given) was without pay, running 6th in his claiming race.  Darnit!

Congrats!

Just looked at her record… wow. What a filly.
