6/30

Another reasonable day with nine out and eight bringing home some money, including the two stakes runners.

[color=blue]Crystal Wizard notched up his 5th win of the year (6 starts) in an OA for 3yo and will now have a short break before heading overseas for a stakes race.

[color=red]Tamar surprised us with a win in her NW3 after showing nothing in two other starts this year. Hoping she keeps it up.

[color=red]Beautiful Basic (Turn ‘N’ Burn 2yo) stepped up on her debut and improved to finish 2nd in her maiden.

[color=blue]Baringa ran a close 2nd in the Cheltenham Gold Cup Grade 1 - he seems to like being the bridesmaid  ::) but might be the first GB trained GCh by the end of the year if he keeps going the same way.

[color=blue]Sionnach (Giant’s Causeway 2yo) ran 3rd in his maiden. Might give him a spin on the dirt to see if he improves.

[color=blue]Quarren ran third in the Sussex Stakes Grade 1. Quite happy with that since he ran in a Grade 1 last Saturday. He’ll have a break for a while now.

[color=red]In The Loop only recently broke her maiden, so did well to finish 4th in a mixed sex OA for 3yo+, finishing best of the girls. [color=red]Miss Crab Apple was 9th.

[color=red]Hoorah was the only other runner, finishing 5th in her NW1.

Another decent day for Semiahmoo! No wins but decent overall

Adena Brave hit the track again after a loong break in Australia. She ran 4th in her allowance

Burn It Down (Whats Your Point) ran 2nd in a turf allowance. I think we need to try some new equipment to see if we can push him a little harder

Run Jenny Run (Whats Your Point) ran 3rd in the Sussex Stakes in England. Happy with that but I may give him a bit of a break, i’ve been running him a fair amount lately.

Face The Fire (I’m Your Angel) ran 2nd in the Racing Post Trophy for 2yos! Stoked about this little colt and what the future has for him!

Jumping for joy!! I am sooooo pleased,  the 1 win I wanted happended!! A horse I got In a $15k claimer then almost sold instead of paying shipping just more than paid for it all!!

[color=blue]Thru Traffic ran 4th in an NW-2 for 2yo
[color=green]Sunday Glory finished 4th in a 10f SC , thanks to jump trials, he was for sale,if ny one is interested in him just message me.
[color=red]Magic Carpet Ride finished 5th in a sloppy SC, another horse with bad surface luck since switching over.

And the didn’t fire pile as side from[color=red] Double Shot above, was [color=red]Artists Studio(wet track) she hates that, And 2 babies, [color=red]Julie’s Turn (Harvard bound) and [color=blue]The Councellor (point Given) both finishing 7th

I don’t know what has gotten into my ponies lately, but I sure like it!
Just like last raceday, not one pony finished any worse than 3rd.  :astonished:  One race day was chalked up to pure luck, two in a row seems a bit more mysterious…but I’m happy to hope that this lucky streak (or whatever you might call it) continues:

2YO filly [color=red]Nicole’s Majic (x A.P. Indy) broke her maiden today after placing a couple of times.  Ironically, this was under a brand new jockey - one she has never worked with before (instead of her regular jock).  Odd.  We may have her start working with this new jockey on a regular basis…

2YO homebred [color=red]Alakazam (x Highland Magic) also broke her maiden today.  We changed her equipment thanks to hints from her favorite jockey.  I’m hoping that she can keep this up, though, because she had previously never been in the top 3.  Fingers crossed.

6YO [color=red]I’m Feelin’ Lucky (created) won her first steeplechase race.  I’m super excited to see this, as I made a bit of a blunder when I purchased her - not realizing that the years didn’t add up, and that she’d been sitting in a pasture for 2 years.  ::)  I’m glad to see that the ol’ gal still has it in her to win, though she will most likely be retired to brood next spring.  It’s a shame that she missed out on so much of what would have been her prime, though…but I have faith enough to want to see her babies try to live up to it.  Hitting the board with inconsistant training in years 2 through 6 is enough of a feat - a testament to her heart- that she’ll earn an honorary spot in our brood band.  Her new SC career is just a bonus.

Having just come off her first stakes attempt, we decided to enter 3YO homebred [color=red]Girlfight (x Nightfight) into a lower class race to help boost her morale back up, and she relished it - bringing home another win.

2YO homebred [color=blue]Star of Lakshmi (x Octagonal) and 2YO [color=blue]Laudri (x Point Given) ran 2-3 in their NW2.  Both remain maidens, but this is huge, especially for Lakshmi, who has never been on the board before (he apparently liked the change of equipment suggested by his jockey).  Meanwhile, Laudri continues to be inconsistant, but we’re prepared to keep working with him on that…

3YO [color=blue]Dawson’s Rudge (x A.P. Indy) was running strong in the lead during his maiden, 'til his jockey started pulling him up in the last couple of furlongs.  He showed determination, though, fighting from 3rd back to 2nd by the finish line before finally submitting to his jockey’s demands.  After Macintosh hopped off and inspected his left hind leg, it was found that he’d managed to cut himself pretty badly.  We have gone ahead and started him on the journey from California to New York so we can rest him up and give him the best TLC possible.

And last but not least, our homebred 2YO [color=red]Coquette (x Bellagio) ran 2nd in her first stakes attempt, the ungraded Astoria Handicap, against some really impressively bred fillies.  That’s huge for us.  That’s the 3rd stakes placed 2YO under our ownership now…a feat we have never achieved before, and especially so early on into the season.  This crop is looking super promising, and it’s leading me to believe that my methods might actually be working…  That, or I’m just having an incredibly lucky year in the game.  :stuck_out_tongue:

Decent day, but not amazing.

Win:
[color=blue]Well of Magick (Sadler’s Wells) in an OA.

Places:
[color=red]Perfect Princess (Worth My While) right behind Well of Magick.

[color=red]Cadbury (2yo, Highland Wizard) in her debut.

[color=red]Devil’s Price (Candidate) in a NW3.

[color=blue]Macbeth (2yo, Prince of Wonder) in a maiden.

Shows:
[color=red]Sydney Ellen (Candidate) behind Devil’s Price.

[color=red]Three Ballads (Cryptic Ballad) in a NW3.

[color=blue]Indy’s Flight (2yo, A.P. Indy) in the Racing Post Trophy. Not bad for his stakes debut.
