Lots of “bridesmaids” today, only one “bride”. Interestingly, our only winner today was our only non-2yo runner.

Win [color=blue]Ch. No Guts No Glory, (4yo, ICh. Magic Glory x Risk Away) 1/10 in the Ung Workingham Handicap in England. 3rd SW overall, 2nd this year. It is nice to see him back in the winners circle again after disappointing performances in his last 3 races.
Seconds [color=blue]Crown of Thorns, (2yo, NCh. Call To War x Crowning Glory) 2/10 in the G1 National Stakes in Ireland. [color=red]wonziT, (2yo, Tiznow x Backwards Image) 2/11 in the Ung Fashion Stakes at Belmont. [color=blue]Moony’s Deal, (2yo, Ch. Moonopoly x Deal With It) 2/9 in an NW3 at Woodbine. [color=blue]Calle d’Oro, (2yo, NCh. Golden Text x Back Streets) 2/8 in an OA at Belmont.
Fourth [color=red]Appeal Court, (2yo, GCh. Cool Thief x Polly’s Appeal) 4/10 in the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes in Ireland.
Pretty good day, nothing high stakes mostly they were experimental races

We managed to claim [color=blue]Super Choice 2yo (Dark Continent) from Lochiedo Stables and he was 1st but I think he needs some maturing yet
[color=red]Greek Goddess 5yo (Count Fleet) was 1st in her NW2, she’s placed well this year but her times are nothing special
[color=red]String Theory 3yo (Harvard Bound) was 2nd in a NW2 by an absolutely miniscule margin, think we’re onto to her equips
[color=blue]Straticus 3yo (Simply Heroic) was highlight of the day, coming 1st in his OA to make it 4 out of 6 this year and leaving the rest of the field behind with a SF of 242. Fingers crossed it wasn’t a fluke!
[color=red]Lady Maddow 4yo create got 1st in a steeple OA, she’s had a very good year. [color=red]I’m Not Bluffing 5yo (Lonesome Glory) was in 6th. She recently got her Champ title so I decided to retire her to brood. She will probably got to Crystal Rainbow or Hollywood if they’re available
[color=blue]Kingster 3yo (Highland Laird) was a disappointing 6th in a NW1. More experimenting required yet
[color=blue]Finn MacCool 4yo (Giant’s Causeway) was 2nd in a turf NW2. Given his pedigree I am really leaning to steeple with him but he is only on lease
[color=blue]Oh So Famous 4yo ( Take Me To Hollywood) was 4th in an OA just can’t get him right. [color=red]Vintage Heart 5yo (Whirlaway) was 7th in the same race, she’s a terrible racer but needs one more start before she can become a broodmare
[color=red]Iyaiyai was 2nd/10 in Gr. 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes. We knew that the winner, Unprecedented owned by Coleman Branch is very strong so we’re proud of a 2nd place behind this filly.
4yo [color=red]Ellejolet was 3rd/10 in her open allowance.
I only managed 4 entries before they closed. Drats.

WINS
[color=red]Brianza (2yo, Bellagio) won her NW2 with a decent speed factor, breaking her maiden. Our Bellagio girl was one of our top 2yo fillies last year, so I’m glad to see it look like it could happen again.
[color=red]Alakazam (3yo, Highland Magic) has been quite frustrating, so I put her name down on my “to sell” list. Apparently she got wind of it, because she won her starter allowance with a speed factor of 222! That’s her second win in a row, so now I’ve got to see how she does in a couple more allowances before making a final decision…
PLACES
[color=red]GCh. Afterglow (5yo, Affirmed) finished 2nd in her OA, due to a lack of suitable races.
SHOWS
[color=red]Ch. Always Ladylike (4yo, Giant’s Causeway) finished 3rd in the ungraded Workingham Handicap. She’s been doing pretty well this year, but not as good as last year. It looks like retirement is on the horizon for 2018.
