5/11

11 runners sent out today, only one didn’t bring home a paycheck. Our 3yo’s seem to be hitting form at just the right time as our horses finished 1-2  in both of the English Classics run today to go with the 1-2 in the Irish 1,000 Guineas on Wednesday and the 1-4 in the Kentucky Derby last Saturday. Also encouraging is the fact that our 2yos seem to be learning what this racing game is about. After a slow April in which the best they could manage was two 2nds, our 2yo record for May so far is 17-4-2-4-1.

Two horses sent out today and both proved to be good purchases.

[color=green]Hoppin’ Harry won his allowance race out of a field of six and [color=green]Only Time was 3/6 in his NW3.

Pretty pleased about my start in the game so far.  ;D

Good day today! 6 running, 5 on the board including a few 2yos, the first time this season my 2yos have done ANYTHING

Wins
[color=blue]True Royalty (2yo, Long Live The King) kicked butt in a 2yo allowance, this was his first start and it was a solid win, can’t ask for more then that!

[color=blue]Criminal Secret (3yo, Foolhardy) won the Matt Winn Stakes, his first stakes win. Excited about this boy’s future

[color=blue]Lake Highlands (4yo, Highland Bandit) won the GI Pimlico Special, his 3rd stakes win in a row, 5th win in a row.

Places
[color=red]All Revved Up (3yo, All Jazzed Up) in the Bouwerie. Her first ever stakes start, i’ll take it

Shows
[color=red]Cerridwen (2yo, Dark Continent) ran 3rd in a NW3 allowance. Her first start

Only one out today, but it was pleasing.

[color=blue]Stealing Home (High Chances) was 3/9 the Matt Winn Stakes for 3yo at Churchill Downs. His first stakes outing…

All over the board, but we brought home a handful of wins.

So, highlights.

Roguish (Highland Laird) won the Three Chimneys Race in Churchill, making him 3 for 3 for this season. I know I’m counting my chickens before they hatch, but I’d be delighted to stand another Laird son. Just saying.

Dilsey (Dark Continent) won her maiden against the girls.

Nairobi (Dark Continent) won an OA against the girls.

Setlik (Highland Magic) won her NW3 against the girls.

Dreams of Glory (Magic Glory) won her OA against the boys.

Scarlet Fever (Dark Continent) won her NW1 against the boys.

Place
Firedance (Ring of Fire) was 2nd in her OA.

Hubris (High Chances) was 2nd in his OA.

Hero for Hire (Ring of Fire) was 2nd in his NW2.

Pearls of Wisdom (Stride) was 2nd in her OA.

Show
Repudiate (Long Live the King) was 3rd in his OA.

Cold Rain (Dark Continent) came back from a minor injury to finish 3rd in an OA.

Life Line (Long Live the King) was 3rd in her maiden.

Handful of 4ths and a bunch off the board. Better luck next time.

Nice day.

3yo  [color=blue]Beautiful Romance won something finally. A claimer.

3yo [color=blue]Montecristo finished 3rd/6 in a NW1.

4yo [color=red]Ch. Crownette finished 3rd/10 in Very One Stakes.

My only horse out, [color=red]Analeigh (3yo, Dark Continent) won an NW1.  Nice to see her finally win, after a couple 2nds this year.

Sent out 3 and 4 came home.

We successfully claimed [color=red]Bella Bonita (Smart Strike) who ran 3rd/6.

[color=red]Palm Reader (Seattle Sorcerer) finished 4th/8 in her claimer and stays home.

[color=blue]Stressful Reality (2yo, Stressed) finished 4th/12 in the Ungr. Three Chimneys Juvenile. It was his first time on an off track and his stakes debut, so we’re quite happy and hopeful for a better go next time out.

Also-ran: [color=red]Espionage (2yo, Slew O’Scots) was 13th/14 but all her half-siblings seemed to take until age 4 or 5 to get going.

Don’t even want to discuss mine :frowning:

Sent out 3 and only one brought home a check for us haha

[color=red]Grace Darling (3yo by Oscillation) placed 3rd/6 in an OA on the turf.
