4/3

;D

2yo colt [color=blue]Zimbardo (A.P. Indy x Ch. Zabara by Secretariat) won the first 2yo maiden of the year! :smiley: He’s bred by The Grey Stable, we bought him in December and named after my favourite social psychologist, Philip Zimbardo. The colt made his dam silver ranked.

Another 2yo maiden was [color=red]Iyaiyai (Giant’s Causeway x Always In Trouble by Citation) and she finished 3rd/14. Her dam is out of Reine-de-Course Always Be Mine. She is named after a fossil chaoborid fly…

[color=red]Ch. Crownette finished 2nd/10 in Primonetta Stakes, where her stablemate [color=red]Ch. She’s Outlawed was 4th.

[color=red]Cabernet was 2nd/6 in English NW1 allowance, and she’ll stay there for a while.

[color=red]Ch. Embellished was 5th/12 in her open allowance, where stablemate [color=red]Ellejolet finished 8th.

Our colt [color=blue]Beautiful Romance was a disappointing 10th/11 in his NW1.

Few to write up here, most of our success was earlier on the race card though

Of most interest was 2yo [color=blue]Gangsta’s Paradise (Street Wise) winning his first start, not getting excited though his time was much slower than [color=blue]Zimbardo up there of Hilda’s for almost the same conditions  :slight_smile:

[color=blue]Conrad (Lasting Spirit) won a NW1 with quite a nice time, his Dam is already gold rated. Lasting Spirit is bronze rated but all his foals I own have been quite good to me so far

[color=red]Saffron Sky (Seattle Sorcerer) smoked em in her NW2 over steeples, first race since claimed from FF

[color=red]Rebel Yell (Almost Home) won her OA over steeples, bought this girl mostly for her name lol but she’s doing well, stablemate [color=green]Broad Band (Northern Dancer) was in second

[color=blue]Great Scotts (Slew O’Scots) won a NW3

[color=green]Deign To Tempt (Temptation) won a SC claimer, had no real concerns he would be claimed heh

[color=red]Bonita Montana (Sneak Peek) won her maiden and got a speed record in the process  :smiley: yay fingers crossed she can keep that up! Stablemate [color=red]Costly Talent (Affirmed) was 4th

[color=blue]Bet on Octagonal (Octagonal) won his OA with stablemate [color=red]Celtic Lore (Highland Bandit) right behind him

[color=green]Appollo Ocean 7yr old create! won his NW1 with a very nice time. He was adopted from FF early in the year

[color=red]Greek Goddess (Count Fleet) was 2nd in a NW3, she still needs 4 more starts to become a broodmare

[color=green]Ch. Glorification (Magic Glory) was 2nd in the Excelsior Breeder’s Cup. Still running well at 6yrs

[color=blue]Awaiting Jade (Worth The Wait) was 2nd in a NW3, stablemate [color=red]A Sure Bet (Ahketnaten)was in 4th

[color=red]Hydrogen (Highland Wizard) was 4th in the Santa Anita Derby. Entered due to lack of competition really  ::)

[color=red]Ch. Moon Eclipse (create) was 4th in the Winterbottom Stakes

[color=red]Seattle Eclipse (Seattle Slew) was 4th in the Empire Rose Stakes. Not a turf runner apparently!

[color=blue]Starseeker (Starz’n’Stripes) bombed to come 7th in an OA. I know this guy can run, he has 2 speed records,  i’m just missing something!  ???

Solid day, given that almost all our entries were 2yos.

PLACES:
[color=blue]Song and Sixpence (2yo, Worth My While) in a NW1. First foal from his SW dam.

[color=blue]Silver Mage (2yo, Bellagio) in a NW3. Half-brother to MSW Golden Aura and SP Well of Magick.

[color=red]Reckless Faerie (2yo, Rock of Gibraltar) in a maiden. Half-sister to SW Millennium Star.

[color=blue]Gandalf (3yo, Highland Wizard) in a NW1.

FOURTH:
[color=blue]Winged Charm (2yo, Silver Charm) in a NW2. Half-brother to SW Indy’s Flight.

Pretty good day, four out and three OTB.

[color=blue]Quarren (4yo Sadlers Wells) won the ungraded Lincoln Handicap over a mile on turf. He needs one more stakes win for studification.

[color=blue]Dance World (3yo Take Me Away) won his NW2 by thirteen lengths to break his maiden.

[color=red]Redheaded Princess (3yo Boldness Shows) ran 2nd in her NW3.

We rarely have 2yo success, and our first run reflected this. In all we sent out 5 2yo’s and one hit the board, with a total of 7 runners and 2 OTB.

[color=red]Magickal Rites (Irish River) came through and won the Ungr. Banshee Breeze Handicap. We took a risk because it’s a 7f sprint and she loves things over 10f. She’s now won 4 of 6 starts this year.

[color=red]Raspberry Kisses (2yo, Point Given) debuted 3rd/14 in her NW2.

No one else finished better than 7th.

Pretty darn good day.

Laird’s Own (Highland Laird) won her ungraded stakes.

No Time to Rest (Seattle Slew) was 2nd in her allowance.
Holy Cow (Holy Bull) was 2nd in his allowance.

Ask Directions (DC) was 3rd in her OA.
Fit to be Tied (High Chances) was 3rd in the Gr. 1 Santa Anita

13 runners sent out today, 6 of which were 2yo’s. Only 6 (none of them 2yo’s) brought home paychecks.

3 Wins
[color=blue]G.Ch. AndLikeThatHesGone, (5yo, Major’s Flight x Risky Venture) 1/10 in the G3 Excelsior Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita. He is unbeaten in 3 races this year (all Stakes) and has 5 wins in his last six races. He became stud-qualified after his last race.
[color=blue]G.Ch. Painted Raven, (5yo, Slew O’Scots x Painted Desert) 1/10 in the G3 Paddy Power Gold Cup in England. His first win this year so he now needs two more SW to become stud-qualified. Earned his G.Ch. status with this win.
[color=red]Devil’s Flight, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Coco Diablo) 1/12 in an OA at Aqueduct. Her first win this year and only her second ever. She will probably be sent to the sales ring later this year.

Other Paychecks
[color=blue]G.Ch. Cup O’ Tea, (6yo, Stagehand x Whistlin’ Dixie) 5/10 in the Ung Lincoln Handicap in England. He still needs one more SW to become stud-qualified. This is the first paycheck he has brought home in four starts this year, dare we hope that he’s coming back into some semblance of form. He has had two Jump trials and both times the Jockey reported that he loves jumping so I might switch him to Jumping.
[color=blue]Ch. Major’s Insight, (6yo, Major’s Flight x Highland Sage) 4/8 in an Clm at Aqueduct, just ahead of stable-companion, [color=blue]Secano, (3yo, Sneak Peek x In Due Time) who finished 5th. Neither were claimed and are up For Sale, [color=blue]Major’s Insight for $30k and [color=blue]Secano for $10k.

Also Ran (non-2yo’s)
[color=red]Ch. Unbridled Run, (4yo, Strider x Unbridled Passion) 6/11 in the G2 Winterbottom Stakes in Australia.

In addition to these, we sent out 6 2yo’s. Only 1 finished better than 10th, and she was only 8/10.

Actually had a decent day to report sent out 11 with all but 2 bringing home a check and most of them babies!

Wins
[color=red]Nighttime Lover (nightfight) in an NW-3 wiring the race winning by 3 lengths

Places
[color=blue]Hell On Hooves (as you wish) in a NW-2 turf race

Shows
[color=blue]Riverton Heights in a 13f OA , SC in Aus.

[color=blue]Tomahawks in the 16 furlongs Paddy Power Gold Cup in England  he was leaving at the 12f mark, but dropped back slightly

4ths
[color=blue]In For The Wynn (bellagio) in a dirt NW-3 everyone at the front was seperated by a nose at the wire!
[color=blue]BetYouWishYouHad (stressed) in a maiden
[color=blue]Velvet Revolver (nightfight) in an NW-2
[color=blue]Blue Cat Two (alley cat) in an NW-1

5th
And [color=red]Danzin For Love (GDR) and the last foal from. My starter mare in her maiden

We has 2 others justoutnodmthe money in 6th place [color=blue]Cold Hearted Snake 6/14 by rumour has it, and  [color=red]BeautifulyDeadly by smart strike 6/14

I don’t know what to make of today. I sent out 5, and only 1 came home out of the money… but I honestly wasn’t expecting them to do well, and it still wasn’t a fantastic day.

Wins

[color=red]Burlesque, 1/14 in her first outing as a 2yo. She won by 2 1/4 and in decent time.

Places

[color=blue]Watch Your Money, 2/6 in an NW2 in England. He was only 1/4 length off the lead, but 4 3/4 ahead of the 3rd place horse (one of my starters, Stipulation  ::) ). I’ve always sort of liked him, and he’s never been off the board since I claimed him in his first race.

Fourths

[color=red]Sahha, 4/6 in an NW2 SC.

Fifths

[color=green]GCh. Samhain, 5/11 in the G.2 Winterbottom Stakes. He’s 9 years old and still keeps on going; to think his last race was a claimer! Well. He held his own in stakes company, anyway… I’m thinking he may be retired soon enough, because he’s always been reliable.

One win today.

[color=green]Hard Knockin’ (7yo, Created) came in 1st in an Open Allowance SC. This was his second win in a row, showing me he definitely isn’t ready for retirement (unlike some of my other 7 year old geldings…).  [color=green]Haley’s Comet (6yo, Moonopoly) came in 4th/6 in the same race, his first race since I claimed him.

[color=blue]Atlantic Exit (3yo, King David) came in 7th/11 in an NW1.  This was his first race since I claimed him.  He won the claimer with a SF of 30, so I’m wondering whether he’s just up to inconsistent stallion hijinks or if he’s not mature enough yet.
