4/24

Lost a claim, should have resisted the stakes gamble, and I’m super excited over a 2yo!

[color=blue]Stressful Reality (2yo, Stressed) made it 2 for 2 with a 1st/14 in his NW1!
[color=blue]Greatkingsofmen (Highland Laird) is now 3 for 4 this year with a 1st/6 in his NW3.

[color=blue]Dandywine (Highland Bandit) was 4th/9 in his NW1.
[color=blue]Breakfast in Bed (Harvard Bound) was 4th/6 in his NW3.

Also-rans: [color=red]Raspberry Kisses (2yo; 11th/12, NW2), [color=red]Espionage (2yo; 12th/14, NW2), [color=green]A Knight’s Tale (7th/10 G3).

Two out, two winners  :smiley:

[color=red]Raining On Parade (3yo Gimmie A Shot) made a winning d

Pretty pleased with today! Sent out 6 & 3 hit the board.

PLACES
[color=red]Egalite (3yo; GCh. Simply Heroic) came in 2nd in a NW1 SC. Doing pretty well since in her last 3 races she’s at least hit the board. Hoping for a win next time!

[color=green]Raven’s Glory (4yo; ICh. Magic Glory) gave us our first stakes placing in Gr. 2 Lee Steere Stakes :smiley: He’s also now a Ch, but not taking credit for that lol since this is his first race with us!

SHOW
[color=red]Aztec Pearl (2yo; ICh. Take Me Away) finished 3rd in a NW1. Much improvement since her last race when she placed 9th in a Maiden. She might have a dirt pref.

2yo [color=blue]Aguirre (Smart Strike x Wonder Why) won his debut race by 6 3/4 lengths :smiley: looks like we have another talented colt.

Our previous maiden winner [color=blue]Zimbardo now was 2nd/14 in his NW1, lost only by a nose.

Recently claimed [color=red]Gentle Words was 3rd/6 in her maiden.

[color=red]Ch. Crownette finished 5th/10 in Bed O’ Roses Breeders’ Cup Handicap.

Had a so so day sent out 14 with 10 bringing home some kind of check the stakes ponies failed again :frowning:

Win
[color=blue]That’s No Bull (holy bull) Nw-2 turf winning by 2 lengths

Place
[color=red]Aisle Light in an Nw-2 for 3/f
[color=blue]The Counselor in an OA
[color=blue]Secret Assasin (void) in an open maiden

4ths
[color=red]Morning Angel (im your angel) in an Nw-2 2/f
[color=blue]Superman Snuggler (simply heroic) in Nw-3

5th
[color=blue]Black magic master in an Nw-2 3yo
[color=blue]Total Eclipse (my lucky day) in an Nw-3 2yo
[color=blue]Highland ruler in an Nw-3 3yo
[color=red]Pretty Lil Liar (candidate) in a maiden 2/f

Only 4 out, with mixed results and no winners…  :-\

Place

[color=blue]Stealing Home, a former claimer who was 2/6 in an OA, 4 lengths ahead of the 3rd place horse… I may point him at some stakes now.

Show

[color=blue]Raptus, 3/10 in the Ungr. Hallandale Beach Stakes. WOO! I leased him as a 2yo, liked him, and bought him; since then he has barely lifted a hoof apart from in a claimer. Maybe he’s finally finding his stride.

Also Rans:
[color=green]GCh. Samhain, 10/10 in the Fort Marcy Handicap. No way around it, retirement may be imminent. He certainly won’t race in stakes anymore. Not sure why I attempted in the first place, seeing as he was 8 years old when I bought him…

[color=red]Astrophysics, 13/14 in a maiden.  ::) She’s gone back to the farm and won’t race again as a 2yo, unless her training goes well and she races later in the year… clearly she’s not mature enough yet.

Only one out today, but he did well and I was surprised by it.

[color=green]Sock Hop, created 4yo gelding, was 4/10 in the G3 Vigil Stakes. He was a dud until I switched him to SC, and even then he was mediocre. Obviously he’s a late bloomer, but we’ll see.  :slight_smile:

Congrats! I hope he continues to do well for you. :slight_smile:

Congrats on your TMA filly’s win. :slight_smile:

I sent out 18, but one of our winners got claimed. Good luck with our homebred, Mood Indigo, Easter Valley! I’m sure you’ll find that he prefers finishing in the top two. :slight_smile:

WINS

Mood Indigo (3yo, All Jazzed Up), who got claimed. 1/2 to MSW filly, Ch. With A Fleurish, whom we own.

[color=red]Worth A Treasure (3yo, Worth My While) won her NW2. She is consistently in the top three, but we are trying to teach her how much better it is to win. :stuck_out_tongue:

[color=blue]Zadar (3yo, What’s Your Point) won his NW3, earning a speed record in the process. This is his second win in a row.

[color=blue]Star of Lakshmi (3yo, Octogonal) won his OA. It’s his third win in a row, so he may be one to watch.

[color=red]Sweet Home Alabama (3yo, I’m A Classic) won her first stakes race, the ungraded Hallandale Beach Stakes against mixed company. She is one of my sentimental favorites, so I’m happy to see her succeed.

[color=red]Montalvo (3yo, Point Given) also won her first stakes, the G2 Queenston Stakes. She’s undefeated so far this year.

PLACES

[color=red]Xcientist (3yo, Crystal Rainbow) was 2nd in her maiden.  Place-itis?

[color=red]Hawaiian Ice (5yo, Bold Ruler) was 2nd in the G3 Skip Away Handicap, making her officially stakes placed.  I would love to get her a title before retirement, and this definitely did not hurt.

[color=red]Ch. Nicole’s Majic (3yo, A.P. Indy) was 2nd in the G2 Louisville Breeders’ Cup in mixed company.

SHOWS

[color=blue]Pistolwhip (2yo, Gunningdownromance) placed 3rd in his debut, a NW3.  He’s half to our 3yo SW Ch. Singsong.

[color=red]Newyorknewyork (2yo, Stressed) was 3rd in her debut, a maiden.

OFF THE BOARD

Ch. Oh So Proud (5yo, Highland Pride) was 5th in the G3 Crown Royal American Turf, which was also her first time in mixed company this year.
Grand Love (2yo, High On Love) was 6th in his debut.
V Is For Valiant (2yo, V is for Victory) was 6th in his debut.
Mostro (2yo, Spock) was 8th in his debut.
Ponte Vecchio (2yo, Unabridged) was 11th in his debut.
Mango Frappe (5yo, Sunday Silence) was 11th in her OA.  I’m highly considering retiring her this year (I was going to wait 'til next year), because the best she’s managed this year was a 4th.

Four girls out today.

[color=red]Delightful Queen ran in 8.5f Gr. 2 Queenston Stakes for 3yo+ F/M (T) and placed 5th/10. Almost… I just want her to have some success in stakes!

[color=red]She’s Gawne ran in 8.5f Gr. 3 Skip Away Handicap for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 5th/11. I keep pushing her too hard, but it’s so hard to find a good race for her that’s not a stakes.

[color=red]Cathedral ran in 10.0f Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 5th/6. Maybe time to retire and find a man for her!

[color=red]Nautilus ran in 10.0f NW1 Allowance for 3yo (SC) and placed 9th/9. I don’t even know.

Thank you - he was the only bright side of a very lackluster day for the barn - all of our racers finished 5th+.  I’ll take good care of him!

Only 4 out today, half of em ran well!

[color=red]Red Fox (5yo, Gallant Fox) won the Skip Away Handicap. She is having a pretty rocking year this year, late bloomer!

[color=red]Blowing Kisses (3yo, Whats Your Point) ran 2nd in an open allowance. We tried some different equipment on her

Pretty good day - only one out of the money from 9 starters.

WIN:
[color=red]Sunlight Spell (3yo, Seattle Sorcerer) who broke her maiden after a bunch of places. :slight_smile:

PLACES:
[color=blue]King’s Knight (3yo, Chivalry) in a NW3.

[color=red]Showmethemagic (3yo, TakeMeToHollywood) in a maiden.

SHOW:
[color=red]Original Copy (3yo, No Duplicate) in an OA.

FOURTHS:
[color=red]Millennium Star (3yo, Rock of Gibraltar) in an OA.

[color=red]Silver Filligree (3yo, Silver Charm) in a maiden behind Showmethemagic.

[color=blue]Crown Wish (3yo, As You Wish) in an OA.

Very good day, 14 runners sent out, all but two finished in the top four. Total earnings for today was $1.75m+.

6 Wins
[color=blue]G.Ch. First Born Son, (4yo, ICh. Ring of Fire x What’s That About) 1/4 in the G1 Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Hong Kong, in which stable-companion [color=red]Ch. American Dance, (4yo, Almost Home x Northern Sister) was 2nd. With this win, [color=blue]First Born Son is the second Starfish horse to become stud-qualified this year. It is especially pleasing as he was the first foal ever born at our stables. [color=blue]First Born Son and [color=red]American Dance are the 5th & 6th Starfish horses to go over the $1m mark in earnings for this year. They will both remain in Hong Kong for the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup.
[color=red]Ch. Saucy Magician, (3yo, ICh. Magic Glory x Kinda Sassy) 1/10 in the G2 Louisville Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs. Her 3rd consecutive win. Depending on how quickly she recovers from this race, she may run in the Kentucky Oaks next.

Thanks Shanthi!

Congrats, Lewis!
