Pretty good day. Eight out, six bought home some money.
[color=blue]Sionnach (3yo Giants Causeway) broke his maiden in an NW2
[color=blue]Northern Officer (3yo AP Indy) broke his maiden in an NW2. Stablemate [color=blue]Dance World finished 2nd
Our eldest homebred [color=blue]Pale Moon Rising (3yo Moonopoly) earned his first paycheck in an NW1 It’s small but it’s a start!
[color=blue]Archaeopteryx (4yo Worth My While) finished 2nd in his OA.
[color=red]Gypsy Jazz (2yo All Jazzed Up) ran 3rd on her debut in an NW1.
Unlucky this time with 2yo’s.
[color=blue]Count The Shots (NCh. Gimme A Shot x Ch. Countess) finished 10th/14 in his first maiden. His pedigree is awesome, so I hope that he’ll improve.
[color=red]Hermelinda (Holy Bull x Ch. Art Of Song) finished 11th/13 in her first maiden. She’s one of our better broodmare prospects, as she’ll carry on the Holy Bull line and she looks very much like her sire (which can’t be said about the other Holy Bull filly we have). So let’s hope that she’ll learn how to run.
Decent day.
WINS:
[color=red]Flamboyant (2yo, Gunningdownromance) in a NW1. Half-sister to MSWs Here’s Hoping, Persuasion, and Hopes Wish.
[color=red]Counting Coins (3yo, Count Me In) in an OA.
[color=red]Crystal Romance (3yo, Gunningdownromance) in a NW3.
PLACES
[color=blue]Rockslide (2yo, Rock of Gibraltar) in a NW2. Half-brother to SWs Calanais and Fly To Heaven.
[color=blue]Gimme A Crown (2yo, Gimme A Shot) in a NW3. Half-brother to MSWs Crowned, Majestic, and Catchafallingstar.
[color=red]Cadbury (3yo, Highland Wizard) in a NW3.
SHOW:
[color=red]A Capella (4yo, What’s Debatable) in the Smart Halo Stakes.
Cabernet Sauvignon won today (my first two year to win first time out) ! I paid 1.5 million for her in utero, so I am glad she is appearing like she may be profitable
Sent out 6 and 2 hit the board, including a win so I’m pleased
WIN
[color=blue]Dashin For Cash (4yo; Go For Dash) won an NW2 on the Dirt. Recently bought and he hadn’t raced since July, very happy with his win!
SHOW
[color=red]Harvard Speaker (3yo; Harvard Bound) in a dirt Maiden; first time hitting the board.
Nobody was out of the money, but the big excitement of the day was [color=red]Fights Just Begun (2yo, Rahy) breaking her maiden. She placed 2nd a week ago in an NW1, and I was a bit worried about racing her again so soon, but she fully recovered her energy in 2 or 3 days. Is quick energy recovery a characteristic of 2-year-olds? The other 2-year-old I raced on 4/10 is already back to a B level of energy.
[color=green]War Effort (7yo, Created) placed 2nd in an NW1 Steeplechase. He’s very consistent at placing or showing at the NW1 level, so I guess I can’t really complain, even if he never wins.
[color=green]Dust Collector (4yo, Created) placed 4th in an OA. This was a little disappointing, as he finished 3rd in an ungraded stakes race his last time out, and he was my stable’s cash cow when I joined FF, winning his first 4 races in January and February. I’m hoping that some extended rest at the home farm will help get him back in the winner’s circle.
[color=blue]BoyOhBoyOhBoy (5yo, Tiznow) placed 4th in an OA too, in a field of 14. He was coming off of a NW3 allowance win, and I think the competition was a bit more fierce than he encountered in his last race. It also might be time for this boy to be gelded.
No, it depends entirely on the horse and how much the race took out of them.
Sent out 3 and only 1 hit the board. I’ve also lost my last 5ish claims, haha.
[color=blue]Rock Stardom (Devil May Care) ran 1st/10 in his claimer and stays home.
Also-rans
[color=red]Raspberry Kisses (2yo, 5th), [color=green]Macau (6th, Starter Allowance).
Decent day, all but one were 5th or better
Wins
[color=blue]Alister (3yo, Octagonal) won an open allowance, second win in a row. Maybe I finally figured this boy out!
[color=red]All Revved Up (3yo, All Jazzed Up) won her starter allowance. Looks like i’ve figured her out too! Third win in a row
2nds
[color=blue]Sunday Paper (5yo, Sunday Silence) ran 2nd in the Greatwood Handicap which i’m happy about, i’ve shipped him around alot and wasn’t sure how is NE would be. He is SO CLOSE to being studified, just need to find a GI to run him in and have him place (he has already won a GI)
4ths
[color=blue]Another Nobody (3yo, Void) in a NW3 allowance
[color=blue]Fruitloop (5yo, Easy Goer) in the Smart Halo Stakes. He is going to the boarding barn for a little nap
9 runners sent out, 6 brought home paychecks, including our first 2yo to do so this year (out of 14 2yo runners).
3 Wins
[color=red]Ch. Back St. Flight, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Back Streets) 1/10 in the G1 Crown Oaks in Australia. Only her second win overall, although she has been very consistent, finishing out of the money in only 1 out of her 14 races. She is now a ‘Ch’.
[color=blue]N.Ch. Worthy Victor, (4yo, Worth my While x Decisive Victory) 1/10 in the G2 Black Stakes in Australia. He is unbeaten in his three races this year, all Stakes races, this was his 14th win (11SW/5G1W).
[color=blue]Ch. Last For More, (3yo, Lasting Spirit x Back For More) 1/10 in the G3 La Troienne at Churchill Downs. His 4th consecutive win, all SW. He will be headed to the Kentucky Derby next.
1 Second
[color=blue]Holy Warrior, (2yo, Black Warrior x In Thy Name) 2/10 in an NW2 at Gulfstream.
1 Third
[color=red]Ch. Dark Topaz, (4yo, Dark Continent x Topaz) 3/12 in the Ung Mamzelle Stakes at Churchill Downs, in which her stable-companion [color=red]Beautiful Rumor, (4yo, Rumor Has It x Sunset Beauty) finished 9th.
1 Fourth
[color=blue]Ch. Glorious Victory, (3yo, Magic Glory x Decisive Victory) 4/10 in the G2 Linlithgow Stakes in Australia.
Other Also Rans

[color=blue]Ministry of Magic, (2yo, Magic Glory x Must be a Mystery) 9/10 in an NW3 in England.
Not too bad just wish the stakes horses would pick it up! Sent out 14 and 9 brought home money

[color=blue]Ethereal Spirit (lasting spirit) in an Nw-3 , out of the 11th PP to win by a head

[color=blue]Go To Town (mr Townsend) in an Nw-1

[color=red]Purple Haze (Nightfight) in a mixed Nw-2 wet turf very surprised!
[color=red]High Darling in an OA 3+ f/m
[color=blue]Loco-Motion (sleipnir) in a maiden turf
Sent out three and they all brought back a paycheck!
[color=red]She’s Gawne ran in 8.0f Ungr. Smart Halo Stakes for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 2nd/13. I’m honestly shocked. She hasn’t shown an incredible amount of talent up to this point. She’s stakes placed and a NW2.
[color=red]La Femme Nikita ran in 5.5f Allowance for 3yo+ F/M (T) and placed 3rd/7. She’s really bloomed this year!
[color=green]Evil Rumors ran in 6.5f Claiming ($50,000) for 3yo+ (D) and placed 3rd/10. He thinks claimers are so fun.
Six out and two brought home checks.
Poor [color=blue]Little Lion Man limped home in 6th in a 7.5 dirt NW2 for 3YO+. He’s going home to recuperate. Thank goodness it wasn’t worse.
[color=red]La Belle Talbot surprised with a win in an 11/5f SC NW2 for 4YO+ F. I guess we’ll be keeping her long and in her class, considering that lowball SF.
[color=blue]A Charming Man ran 6th in a 9f dirt NW3 for 3YO+. And he was doing so well at the beginning of the year. Maybe he needs a longer vacation.
Placing in the same race is [color=red]Thanatos. She could be rounding back into form. I hope her next race is a win.
[color=blue]We Are Pilots bombed in a 6f allowance for 4YO+. Sigh. Talk about a terrible investment. His name’s most likely going green tomorrow.
[color=red]U.R. A Shinin Star didn’t do much better, finishing 12th in a 9f maiden for 3YO F. She probably didn’t want the distance. Back to the drawing board with her.
