3/6

Sent out 7 and 4 hit the top 3! Two bombed so we gelded one and threw the other into the upcoming auction.

[color=blue]Nindalf finished 1st/6 in his OA; he seems to like SC under 10f. Stablemate [color=green]Vuela Vuela was 2nd.

[color=green]Macau ran 2nd/14 in his NW2. Glad I decided to keep him rather than sell.

[color=red]Magickal Rites was 3rd/9 in her OA. She’s still trucking along at age 6, having hit the board 3 of 4 times this year with 2 wins.

Another disappointing day from a stakes race perspective.

WINS:
[color=red]Dressed To Impress (3yo, No Duplicate) in a NW2.

[color=blue]Crown Wish (3yo, As You Wish) in an OA.

[color=red]Clochan na bhFomha (4yo, Giant’s Causeway) in an OA.

PLACES:
[color=blue]Gandalf (3yo, Highland Wizard) in a NW1.

[color=blue]Country Store (4yo, Point Given) in an OA.

[color=blue]Usain Bolt (4yo, Strider) in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile.

[color=red]Can’t Fool Me (3yo, Foolhardy) in the Thousand Guineas.

SHOWS:
[color=blue]Freddie Mercury (3yo, King David) in a NW2.

[color=red]Hemisphere (3yo, Octagonal) in an OA.

[color=red]Integral (3yo, High Chances) in a maiden.

[color=red]Etched In Gold (6yo, Government Secret) in the San Rafael Stakes.

The other ponies (14!) were off the board. Sigh.

Odd day for us, lots of wins,a few terribles and nothing in between! Sent 8 out, had 5 wins

Wins
[color=blue]Lake Highlands (4yo, Highland Bandit) won an open allowance, he is finally on a winning streak! Later bloomer me thinks
[color=blue]Ol’ Blue Eyes (3yo, All Jazzed Up) in an open allowance. First win this season
[color=blue]Adena Brave (4yo, Boldness Shows) in a $25,000 claimer, he stayed with us. He had an equipment change, seemed to have liked it
[color=blue]Fruitloop (5yo, Easy Goer) has still got it! He won the Stymie Handicap. We tried him in some slightly different equipment, he also had a few months off
[color=red]Solo Sunset (4yo, War Chant) in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile, to think I almost didn’t enter her! She is 2 for 2 this season

Actually had a decent day, not much for prize money but all 5 hit the board! All horses in SC races were switched due to jump trials, love that option!

Win

[color=blue]Highland Ruler breaking his maiden winning by 2 1/4 lengths leading his stablemate

Place
[color=red]Crystal Singer  to the finish , she was 3 lengths ahead of the third place runner.

[color=blue]American Promise in an NW-1 SC (switched due to jump trials)

Shows
[color=blue]Highland velvet in a 16f turf (guess he likes distance) the top 5 were all just seperated by a nose at the finish!

4ths
[color=blue]Enter Stage Right in an open SC sprint

Two colts, both improving.

3yo [color=blue]Im Your Daddy - 1st/6 in his third steeplechase race, and he’s finally a winner!

3yo [color=blue]Beautiful Romance - 3rd/7 in his NW1, also quite consistent and a high speed figure.

Both colts will be auctioned soon!

A good day for us; three of the four runners hit the board. Just wish the races we entered had a bigger purse than $10,000 lol

[color=red]Thanatos won an 8f dirt NW2 for 3YO+, her third win in a row. She’s really blossoming as a 4YO. We’ll continue running her through her conditions (NW3 --> OA) before we consider stakes races for her.

In the same race was [color=blue]Wise Words, finishing a not-so-great sixth. Not sure how he went sideways after starting the year so promisingly. We’ll play with equipment and surface a bit before considering the ultimate equipment change.

At our home track homebreds [color=blue]The Time Lord and [color=red]A.P. Impala finished 1-2 in a 7.5f dirt NW2 for 3YOs. This is also Time Lord’s second win of the year, so my homebreds are trekking along pretty fine. Next goal for them is to stretch out Time Lord to 8-8.5f and to get Impala away from her stablemates. Maybe Gulfstream?

9 runners sent out, only 2 finished out of the money.

3 Wins
[color=red]Ch. Lupe Valez, (4yo, Point Given x Lucky Lucky Lady) 1/10 in the $1m G1 Santa Anita Handicap at Santa Anita. 1st SW. Plans are to send her to Dubai for the G2 Godolphin Mile next.
[color=blue]G.Ch. AndLikeThatHesGone, (5yo, Major’s Flight x Risky Venture) 1/12 in the G2 San Rafael Stakes at Santa Anita. His 7th SW (including 2 G1W) to go along with an additional 4 SP, means that he is now Stud-qualified. He will be retired at the end of this year and will join our ever growing band of Stallions next year.
[color=red]Flight of Silk, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Flaming Silk) 1/10 in the G3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes in Australia. Her 2nd win and 1st SW.

1 Second
[color=blue]DoubleOrNothing, (6yo, A.P. Indy x By Honor Bound) 2/6 in an Clm in Australia. His 1st time in the money this year. He is For Sale for $25k.

3 Thirds
[color=red]Perfect Princess, (4yo, Worth My While x Celtic Glory) 3/12 in the G3 Suwannee River Handicap at Gulfstream. First race in our colors.
[color=blue]Ch. Lohan, (4yo, My Lucky Day x Thinking of Dreams) 3/10 in the $1m G1 Santa Anita Handicap at Santa Anita, behind stable companion [color=red]Ch. Lupe Valez. He will be aimed for the G1 Dubai Duty Free next.
[color=red]Back St. Flight, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Back Streets) 3/10 in the G2 Winning Edge Stakes in Australia. She too will be aimed for the G1 Dubai Duty Free next.

Also Ran
[color=red]G.Ch. Boundless Train, (4yo, Strike It Rich x By Honor Bound) 6/10 in the G2 Frank E. Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita. A disappointing run finishing out of the first 3 for the first time in her last 13 starts.
[color=blue]G.Ch. Cup O’ Tea, (6yo, Stagehand x Whistlin’ Dixie) 10/10 in the G2 Winning Edge Stakes in Australia. Still seeking the last SW needed to become Stud-qualified.

Congrats! You’re a studifying champion.

Congrats on the stud qualification Lewis. You really do have a talent for producing them.

Only about 1/2 hit the board, but we had a couple stakes wins, so we’re pretty happy.

Plus, I think all my HC ponies out this week hit the board, which makes me really happy.

Wins
Color by Numbers (High Chances) became a MSW in style by winning the Gr. 1 Thousand Guineas.
Laird’s Own (Highland Laird) continues to do well and won her Gr. 2.
Hubris (High Chances) continues to do well and won his OA. I’m hoping he’s a stud prospect, giving the fact that he’s the only foal of NCh. Gotta Be a Natural. But that’s jumping the gun by a lot.

Place
Chance of Rain (High Chances) came in 2nd in her Gr. 3.
Lonely Ness (Irish River) was 2nd in her Gr. 3.

Show
Make A Spectacle (Highland Bandit) was 3rd in her NW3.
Sydney Harbor (High Chances) was 3rd in her OA.
Hero For Hire (Ring of Fire) was 3rd in his NW2.
Higher Agenda (Highland Bandit) was 3rd in her ungraded stakes. She should get her NCh. title in her next start. Fingers crossed!

The rest? Not talking about them. Blargh.

LOL @ “the ultimate equipment change”, Shirozora.  Genius.

Meanwhile, my barn is in a strange state at the moment.  Due to RL, my time on FF has been limited these last few months, and those darn adorable babies usually steal most of those precious moments spent online.  As a result, most of my racers have gotten an accidental vacation these last couple months, and not at the farm where it would have been beneficial.  I’ve shipped a majority of them to the farm/boarding farms to rest up (most hadn’t been back to the farm since September or earlier, with an embarrassingly large chunk not having been back since last spring!)  Hopefully the R&R will do them good.

A small handful of them were at the farm, and my absence allowed them some extra relaxation (i.e. fattening up) time.  So today some returned to the track fat & sassy - we’re going to use that as an excuse this time.  ::)  There were still some pleasant surprises, though!

WINS

[color=blue]Laudri (3yo, Point Given) was given an equipment change, and he reacted superbly.  Apparently he hated that darn whip!  He won his NW2 by over 4 lengths, earning a speed record for 8.5f turf.  I’m excited for what this might mean for his future!
[color=blue]Cuchulain (4yo, Irish River) won his second stakes in a row, this time the G2 Winning Edge Stakes.  He earned an astounding 302 speed factor and his THIRD speed record!  Perhaps we have a stallion in the making?  A girl can dream.

SHOWS

[color=red]Foxy Ruby (6yo, Gallant Fox) finished 3rd in her OA over hurdles.  I really, really would love to see her earn a champion title before she retires, which was always the plan (thanks to her gold-rated mum).  She’s only 9 points away…so we’ll probably keep trucking.  She’s sooo close…

We happily claimed another broodmare prospect, [color=red]Cigarillo (6yo, Cigar).  Dad is gold.  Mom is gold. Granddam is gold.  (Everything else is created).  An all-gold pedigree?  For $10k?  I couldn’t resist.  She’s been promptly retired, as I’m fairly certain she’s over the hill.

The rest?  Well, let’s just hope they perform better next time, now that they are back in training…  ::)

Have to admit, it took me a while to get it, but that’s hilarious.

Two out, one an unexpected surprise while the other bombed as expected.

[color=blue]Virginia Challenge ran in 9.0f Ungr. Stymie Handicap for 3yo+ (SC) and placed 2nd/14. Considering he’s NW2 yet, no one expected this out of him. He was a good 2 1/2 lengths behind the aforementioned Fruitloop, but it was still a great performance on his part.

[color=red]Secretsofthesky ran in 7.5f Maiden for 3yo (T) and placed 13th/14. She’s going to be kept at the home track a while to see why she has no interest in running.

Lol I just realised what you said, too funny!
