2011 Color War Results

I will not give out horses unless you link to their names.  Yes, it may only take a minute of my time to go back and find your name on the previous pages, but if I have to do that 50 times, that’s a lot of minutes.

Shanthi, thank you so much, it’s so generous of you to offer these beautiful horses.  The broodmare Honor Bright was very tempting, but I couldn’t turn down a Highland Mystery yearling.  Now, I just need to come up with the perfect name

I would love Prospect of Honor

and the Highland Mystery colt

she is so pretty <3
Thanks

Could we possibly lease them?  I feel this would be a feasible option since in the case of racehorses they sometimes respond to different training and sometimes need to be “kept up” because of sparse time. This assumes that in either case the owner doesn’t want to “give up” the horse. And in the case of broodmares, some of their offspring are going to be sold anyway so why not allow them to be leased and let the other stable soak up the breeding fees and shipping fees instead of the owner having to.  Just a suggestion…

The point of this prize, as I said 2 pages ago, the point is to use these horses and improve your stable with them.  If you don’t want to use them, give them back to FF.

You can still make money on these horses by selling foals.  But if you can’t sell/lease the mare herself, then you actually have to think about who to breed her to, when to breed her, etc.  As opposed to just farming her out to the highest bidder every year.

Thanks Shanthi and thanks Ultraviolets. Both of you are great and I look forward to next (this) years Color War! As for my picks I’m going to go the female route and choose http://www.finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=295 and http://www.finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=5617  ;D

I’ll take the broodmare and her unborn foal, thanks Shanthi!

You can pick the broodmare in foal… or the 2 youngsters… not the broodmare and filly…  :-\

Ok, I guess I’ll have to opt for the broodmare! http://www.finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=295;D
