12/15

Pretty good day - only 2 out of the money.

Wins:
[color=red]A Capella (What’s Debatable) in an OA.

[color=red]Spread The News (2yo, All Jazzed Up) in a maiden.

[color=blue]As You Like (2yo, As You Wish) in a NW1.

[color=red]Cuckoo (Foolhardy) in the Garland of Roses Stakes. We’d like to try her over jumps next year before she retires.

[color=red]Fairy Cat (Alley Cat) in the That’s Debatable Breeders’ Stakes.

Places:
[color=blue]Epic Proportions (2yo, Giant’s Causeway) in a NW3.

[color=blue]Macbeth (2yo, Prince of Wonder) in a maiden.

Shows:
[color=red]Glorious Romance (2yo, Gunningdownromance) in a NW2.

[color=blue]Lord Nelson (Cigar) in the A.P. Indy Breeders’ Stakes. Not quite the win we’d have hoped for, but he is now studified! YAAAAAAAAAY! :smiley: Another Cigar son at stud, as of 2018. :wink:

[color=red]Brightest Light (Akhetnaten) in the That’s Debatable Breeders’ Stakes. She’s doing really well, given that she broke her leg almost 2 years ago.

Fourths:
[color=red]Indy’s Moment (2yo, A.P. Indy) in a NW3.

[color=blue]Indy’s Flight (2yo, A.P. Indy) in the Seabiscuit Breeders’ Stakes. No sweep of the series for him, but still a good effort.

Pretty good week.

Wins
[color=green]Reckless Dash in a NW3 SC in his first time over the jumps.
[color=green]Solaris in a NW3. That’s his second win in a row.

Everything else… not much worth mentioning, two fifths and a tenth.

Ouch. 8 went out and 3 hit the board.

[color=red]Hot Nurse ran 2nd/8 in her OA.
[color=blue]Red Dog ran 2nd/8 in his OA and earned his Ch. title.

[color=blue]Glorioso ran 3rd/7 in his OA.

Wow, really great day! Everyone in the money and I claimed a nice sentimental claimer ;D

First of all, 3yo filly [color=red]On The Road Again, recently purchased from Windward Farm for a nice name and even nicer pedigree (with winless career record, however) collected her second win in a row and this way returned our investment. She came 1st/6 in a NW2 for 3yo fillies.

Then [color=red]Ellejolet collected another win, in a NW3 allowance for 3yo+ fillies and mares.

[color=red]Ch. Shadow In The Dark finished 2nd/14 in a crowded allowance steeplechase for 3yo+ fillies.

[color=red]Ch. Crownette (out of Platinum ranked Cream of the Crop) finished 3rd/14 in ungraded Garland of Roses Stakes for 3yo+ fillies.

Finally, I just had to claim 2yo [color=blue]Beautiful Romance from Krajina. He’s by ICh. Gunningdownromance. I also have two fillies by this sire, and all three are bred by Morning Star Farms. His dam is Beautiful Distrctn, which joined Clicker Lab after the Morning Star dispersal sale. Beautiful Distrctn’s offspring are all winners, including one stakes placed gelding. Next year we’re going to have her Alley Cat foal (linebred for Alydar) and then she may be for sale. So it’s really nice to have her son. And he won his claimer by 5 lengths!

Sent out 4 and 3 came home with money, and again handicappers discounted my co,t in a BS race and he hit the board!

Shows
[color=red]Aisle Light (giants causeway) in a 2/f Nw-3

[color=blue]Whatsinaname (worth my while) in the G-2 seabuscuit BS for 2yp turf. :slight_smile:

And a 5th place  with [color=red]Julie’s Turn (Harvard bound) in a 2/f maiden

After a couple of sub-par (for us) race days, a much better day, today. Sent out 11 runners, all but one brought home money.

3 Wins
[color=blue]GCh. Worthy Victor, (3yo, Worth my While x Decisive Victory) 1/9 in the G2 Bold Ruler Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. He is already Stud-Qualified but will remain in training next year as a 4YO.
[color=blue]Ch. Take Flight, (4yo, Major’s Flight x Foxfire) 1/7 in the G2 A.P. Indy Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. Done for this year but will remain in training next year.
[color=blue]NCh. Lucky Streak, (4yo, Rahy x Wild Streak) 1/5 in the G1 Hong Kong Cup at Hong Kong. Swept the three big International races in Hong Kong, as well as the Japan Cup in Japan and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in France (all 5 of which have purse money of $1.5m or above). He will have one more run in the third leg of the Breeders’ Series 4yo+ Turf Series and then will be retired to stud for next year.

3 Seconds
[color=blue]GCh. First Born Son, (3yo, Ring of Fire x What’s That About) 2/9 in the G2 Bold Ruler Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct, behind stable companion [color=blue]Worthy Victor. The points earned in this race put him into the GCh class. He has finished 2nd in both legs of the 3yo Turf Series. He will be kept in training next year in the hopes that he can get the two SW’s needed to be Stud-Qualified.
[color=red]Ch. Boundless Train, (3yo, Strike It Rich x By Honor Bound) 2/9 in the G2 Nation’s Pride Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. She has finished 2nd in both legs of the 3yo Fillies Turf Series. She, too, will be kept in training next year.
[color=blue]GCh. Cup O’ Tea, (5yo, Stagehand x Whistlin’ Dixie) 2/14 in the G3 Tattersall’s Cup in Australia.  He will have one more race this year in an attempt to get him the last SW needed to be Stud-Qualified. If he succeeds, he will be Retired to Stud, otherwise he will be kept in training next year.

1 Third
[color=blue]Magic Roundabout, (2yo, Magic Glory x What’s That About) 3/11 in an OA in Australia.

2 Fourths
[color=blue]Ch. Pointed Question, (3yo, What’s Your Point x Take the Challenge) 4/9 in the G2 Bold Ruler Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct, behind stable companions [color=blue]Worthy Victor & [color=blue]First Born Son. He will also be kept in training next year.
[color=red]Ch. Hi Honey, (3yo, Foolhardy x Cherokee Accent) 4/9 in the G2 Nation’s Pride Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct, behind stable companion & runner-up [color=red]Boundless Train. She will be kept in training for next year.

Also Ran
[color=red]Ch. Finally, (5yo, Alley Cat x Foxfire) 5/10 in the G2 That’s Debatable Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. She is for sale.
[color=red]GCh. Play My Game, (5yo, Magic Glory x Heiress) 8/10 in the G2 That’s Debatable Breeders’ Stakes at Aqueduct. She will be Retired to Stud for next year.

All of our Breeders’ Series runners today will be running in the third leg of their respective Series, baring injury.

[color=red]Ciao Bella (3yo, Alley Cat) won her NW3 - she likes finishing in the top 3.

[color=red]Syrah (4yo, Bold Ruler) was switched to hurdles as a last ditch effort to get her to be successful on the track as her pedigree suggests - otherwise she was headed to the brood band (begrudgingly) based on pedigree alone, with hopes that a stubborn attitude and/or poor management were the only reasons.  Her damline seems to have been most successful over hurdles when given a chance, so I thought I would give her a shot.  She repaid by winning.

[color=blue]Dawson’s Rudge (3yo, A.P. Indy) finished 2nd in his OA, despite not having been to the farm in 5 months.  He’s being boarded now, and then we’ll try to find him a low level stakes race, perhaps - he’s a very consistent boy.

Only [color=red]Comedy Queen (2yo homebred, High Chances) was off the mark, finishing 8th in her very tough NW1.  Let’s hope she’s a typical HC youngster, just waiting to blossom at 3 (or 4, like mom).
