First, I’m glad to see Oh So Famous end up in an active race home, if only temporarily. Congrats on the win!
I’m behind in posting this, but I’m no less excited with the results:
3YO [color=red]Always Ladylike (Giant’s Causeway) became a stakes winner today, winning the G2 Western Australia Oaks after we shipped her down under on a whim. This is especially meaningful because she was purchased in utero, with intentions of breeding her mom for several more foals…but her dam had to be retired after her difficult birth. She’s the only ‘heiress’ we have.
3YO [color=blue]Dawson’s Rudge (A.P. Indy) won his NW2 - his second win in a row, having broken his maiden last time out. We might have figured this guy out!
After being a dud all year, 4YO [color=green]Irish Muldoon (Danzig) got the ol’ snip-snip…then immediately turned around and WON with a speed factor of 288, earning a speed record. D’oh! Did I mention his dam is a former HOTY? But playing hard to get until 4, and only doing so on long distance SC does not a stallion-candidate make…
3YO homebred [color=red]Lovespell (Magic Cross) won her second race in a row - this time a NW3 - after breaking her maiden last time out. It seems we’ve figured her out, too, finally!
2YO [color=blue]Natomas (Harvard Bound) won his NW3, breaking his maiden. He beat stablemate, homebred [color=blue]Zadar (What’s Your Point), who ran second behind him.
2YO homebred [color=red]Singsong (Rahy) continues to never be out of the money in 9 starts now. She won her NW1.
3YO [color=blue]Starseeker (Starz ‘n’ Stripes) broke his maiden today, too - finally!
2YO homebred [color=red]Sweet Home Alabama (I’m A Classic) remains undefeated in her third start. I definitely need to find a stakes race for this lady!
5YO [color=red]Ch. Twirlaway (Whirlaway) won her open allowance.
2YO homebred [color=red]Ch. Coquette (Bellagio) ran second in her open allowance against colts. I’m happy with that.
2YO [color=blue]Ch. Ducati (Magic Cross) finished second in the G1 Champagne Stakes, but his NE is super low, and he only got a few days at the farm before I realized he was nominated for this race - he gave it a good go, but is now back at the farm to rest up before the Breeder’s Cup.
3YO leased filly, [color=red]Never Doubt (No Duplicate), ran second in her NW2. She’s still a maiden, but at least she’s consistantly in the money…
And our “worst” finish of the day was a hard-earned 4th place finish from 3YO [color=red]Ciao Bella (Alley Cat) in the G1 Beldame Stakes. She faced some really classy fillies, so I’m more than happy to see her fare as well as she did. She has only just begun to blossom, and I expect we’ll see a lot more from this gal soon. She’s from the same HOTY mare as Irish Muldoon.
