10/26

Brilen only sent two horses out for a romp across the track today.

Weyoun- we took a chance, but our boy finished off the board today. Still a good effort.

Love Apple- broke her maiden today in a NW1 Allowance, good girl

Fantastic day here! Still no stakes wins but have only entered once a few weeks ago (disaster).  Now its looking like a few of these may be ready to move up a notch!

GROWLER WON his 6.0f NW2 Allowance for 4yo+
KENAI WON his 7.0f NW3 Allowance for 4yo+
ALPENGLOW was a hardy 3rd in her 16.0f NW3 Allowance for 4yo+, she’s getting up there (5) and may be past her prime.
COSMONAUT and ALYESKA, both older geldings, were in a 6.0f Allowance for 4yo+ with a large purse and had a very fast time. of 1:27 and change. Cosmonaut surprised me by being the best horse today coming 2nd with Alyeska 5th.  They’re both only eligible for open allowances these days and I don’t know if they’re up to that caliber of competition anymore.  This will probably be their last year racing.

FIREBALL 500 was first in his 11.0f Allowance for 3yo+, $45,000; winning an open allowance…he’ll avoid the gelding shears for awhile longer though he’s 4 and don’t know his chances of making it to stud he’s won both his races this year and has interesting bloodlines (love his gold rated dam and I don’t think there are very many/if any AP Indy sons at stud) so would make an interesting stud if that ever happened.  I may look at stakes races for him next. Nightfight did it at 4…why not Fireball? :slight_smile: he’ll get a shot anyway.
CROSSPOINT came 2nd in her 6.5f Maiden for 2yo F, reliable 2yo’s? what is the world coming to?
THE BRIDGADIER  made his first start for us today and won his 6.0f Maiden for 2yo, Thanks again to Angus of Sheldrake for selling him to us! (I begged him because I wanted a Strider 2yo of my own)

I hate entering horses in the same race race and today proved why: REGAL FLAG won and KOBUK was 2nd in their 12.5f Maiden for 3yo+; bittersweet
INDEPENDENCE DAY (AP Indy) won her 5.5f NW1 Allowance for 2yo F, again, reliable 2yo’s?  Must be fall.
My “rented” Strider 2yo, HEADED SOUTH WON his 8.0f NW2 Allowance for 2yo, second win in a row…may start being ambitious with him.  He likes going a mile and he likes the same tack as his daddy…Same jockey too…wierd.  Don’t ask me why I remember that.
BAMBOOZLED is starting to get me excited, winning her 13.0f Allowance for 3yo, $55,000 ; she has a lot of promise!  Her stablemate Irish Glory disapointed with a 4th in the same race.
NOTTA BOY  made me happy with a WIN in her 7.0f Allowance for 3yo+ F

Amazing, no outstanding day! Who knew placing horses in the lowest races they qualify for would work so well! lol
15-9-3-1-1 $200,800

Decent day over here, only sent 3 out.

Victorina (A.P. Indy) won her 2yo turf allowance, super excited about this filly! She’s been top 2 in all 6 of her turf races, her only time below 2nd was when I tried her out on dirt. Definately time for a stakes!

Boundless Train (Strike It Rich) ran 5th in a 2yo allowance, this boy is in my auction tomorrow if anyone is interested :slight_smile:

Maeve ran 2nd in her SC allowance. She’s been really liking the jumps, lets hope she keeps it up!

Sent out 9 today only 3 out of the money, with a couple of great runs, even a speed record! And tell me about the 2yos,my babies have been great this year!

[color=red]Devils Grace-7f,sport page stakes,G-3,3+,D,fast,  [color=red]3rd she tried to move up but am happy with her finish
[color=blue]Generous One-11f,NW3,3+,SC,good, [color=blue]4th always tries his best maybe a Lil shorter
[color=red]High Wire Dancing-6f,allow,3yo,T,good, [color=red]8th for some reason the day before the race her energy nose dived and she just went along for a run :frowning:
[color=blue]Kamenwati-17.5f,allow,4+,T,wet! , [color=blue]1st my star of the day not only the longest he’s ever run but setting a speed record in the sloppy turf! 9.9f-turf-4:07.820
[color=green]O Mercy Me-17.5f,allow,4+,T,wet, [color=green]7th actually came out of 1st PP into third fighting his way to second at 10f fell back to third at 16f and at the finish fell back to 7th. And again in the wet! Now we know he likes a long race it was just a little too long! Gelding certainly made a big difference here!
[color=blue]Pride of Hollywood-(Takemetohollywood)5f,NW-3,2yo,D,fast, [color=blue]6th was a little too short was making his move but not enough track left!
[color=red]Queen Victoria-12.5f,allow,4+,SC,good,[color=red]2nd came out of 8th PP to fight her way to the front fighting to get in front but not quite making it! Still proud of her!
[color=red]The Chance to Dance-(high chances)7.5,allow,2yo,T,wet, [color=red]2nd another surprise on wet turf, led the way to 4f then fell back to 7th, then back into second but kept trying to get back in front so happy with 2nd!
[color=blue]Vampire Lestat-8f,NW-3,3yo,D,fast, [color=blue]4th he’s finally coming back into running again,think he’s over his old injury finally. Came out and settled into 6th then made his move at the end but not enough track to get closer than 4th but still pleased.
9(1)-1/2/(1)/2…$76,350

Slightly disappointing, especially because the races were not too ambitious.

[color=red]Melodramatic - 2nd/6 in  11 furlongs NW3 Allowance for 3yo+ F/M.
[color=red]Classical Hightail - 3rd/8 in 8 furlongs NW3 Allowance for 3yo, in which her stablemate [color=red]Get A Life was 6th.
[color=red]Brief Contact - 3rd/6 in 5.5 furlongs NW2 Allowance for 3yo+.
[color=red]Ch. Private Party - 4th/9 in 9 furlongs Starter Allowance for 3yo+.
[color=red]Belleau Wood - 4th/6 in 9.5 furlongs NW3 Allowance for 3yo.
[color=red]Illuminate Joy - 4th/10 in 12.5 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+. She came back after a month of rest and probably she can’t do any better.

Only 5 out but all of them ran great!

Corporate Card finished 2nd/6 in a Dirt NW1.

Now that we got him fit, Turcanna woke up today finishing 2nd/8 in a Turf OA.

Ifalike held her own in her first try against winners, 2nd/6 in a Dirt NW3.

Torrid Display still tries out there, finished 2nd/6 in a Turf starter.

The One In Front capped off the day by breaking her maiden in a Dirt NW1. 1st/6

Congrats to Cascade Farms and The Brigadier, sounds like he found the home he needed to excel!
