1/23

Bit of a  :-\ day, sent out one, [color=blue]Star Wizard (Highland Wizard) 3yo who finished 8th in his NW1. Bit disappointing after a good 2nd last time out. So unfortunately he didn’t contribute any money towards our successful claim. On the up side we did get our hands on [color=red]Doll Face, a previously unraced 3yo daughter of Rahy out of the gold ranked Hey Toots. She’s a half-sister to MSWs NCh Call To War and Ch Reveille. We also purchased another half-sister early this year and hopefully Doll Face will be fun to play with before joining the breeding ranks.

Congrats for getting Doll Face!

We have one win - [color=red]Lacune finished 1st/6 in a steeplechase claimer, 3 3/4 lengths in front of stablemate [color=red]Ch. Shadow In The Dark, which got claimed by a new stable Blue Valley. Good luck with her!

[color=red]Hadriana was 2nd/6 in NW2 allowance, earning her Gulfstream boarding fees. Only colts ran in this race with her.

Unfortunately, [color=blue]Ch. Gold Tic was 9th/13 in Holy Bull Stakes.

So-so day for us. 35 ponies out, though.  :astonished:

WINS:
[color=blue]Mobile Emitter (3yo, A.P. Indy) in a NW2. May try a stakes race next time. :slight_smile:

[color=red]Queen’s Fool (4yo, Foolhardy) in an OA.

[color=blue]Summer Vacation (3yo, Take Me Away) in a starter allowance.

[color=red]Fairy Cat (5yo, Alley Cat) in the Santa Ynez Stakes.

PLACES:
[color=red]Lady Warrior (3yo, War Chant) in a NW1 against the boys.

[color=red]Sunlight Spell (3yo, Seattle Sorcerer) in a NW3.

[color=red]Counting Coins (3yo, Count Me In) in a NW3.

[color=red]Integral (3yo, Magic Glory) in an OA.

[color=red]Party Doll (3yo, Slew O’Scots) in a maiden.

[color=blue]Damon Bradley (3yo, No Duplicate) in the Holy Bull Stakes.

[color=red]Morgan le Fay (5yo, Highland Wizard) in the Santa Ynez Stakes.

SHOWS:
[color=red]Silver Filligree (3yo, Silver Charm) in a NW1.

[color=blue]Atlantic City (3yo, Foolhardy) in a NW1.

[color=red]Cameo Way (3yo, Stressed) in a NW3.

[color=blue]Thrill A Sec (3yo, Lasting Spirit) in a NW3.

[color=red]Sable Princess (4yo, King David) in an OA.

[color=red]Live A Little (3yo, Rahy) in a maiden.

[color=blue]Well of Magick (3yo, Sadler’s Wells) in the Fred Cappy Capossela Stakes.

[color=red]Gotta Triumph (3yo, Gotta Go) in the First Lady Handicap.

[color=blue]Epic Proportions (3yo, Giant’s Causeway) in the Holy Bull Stakes.

[color=blue]Indy’s Flight (3yo, A.P. Indy) in the Theo Marks Stakes.

Everyone else was not worth mentioning. :wink:

Ouch ouch ouch. Sent out 10 and 3 hit the board.

[color=green]Vuela Vuela made his SC debut with a 1st/10 in a Maiden, and dominated by 3 lengths.

[color=blue]Ekosian was 3rd/6 in her OA.
[color=green]Fine Ensign ran 3rd/7 in a 10k claimer and stays home.

A few also-rans will be slated for claimers.

Today was SUCH a disappointing race day… Not sure what happened… Sent 6 out only came home with 1 placing…
2 of my consistent stakes runners, [color=blue]Sunday Paper and [color=red]Careless Whisper flopped. Sending them both home for a rest.

Two out, with one hitting the board and, I think, covering both of their entry fees, lol. [color=red]Farewell to Arms finished a good second in an 8.5f dirt OA, though I don’t think it’s her best distance. We’re going to stick her to 9 furlongs from here on out. [color=red]Stand Back finished 9th in a big and very competitive 7f steeplechase OA. All we learned from it is that she is never running sprints again, xD

Two out today.  One win, one 7th.  :stuck_out_tongue:

[color=red]Crossing Guard finished in first in her NW1 allowance.  I had tried her in three races last year as a 2 year old and they weren’t spectacular, but I’m thinking, just from looking at them, that they weren’t long enough for her.  She did really well in the 8.5f turf today.  Today’s win has brought her dams breed ranking up to bronze too, my very first broodmare to be ranked solely through foals I’ve bred!  So pleased over that.  ;D

[color=red]Teenage Temper on the other hand finished 7th in her NW3 allowance.  Meh. Can’t win em all.  XD

7 runners sent out - Much better all round results (i.e. not another all-or-nothing day):-

3 Wins
[color=red]Major Dreams, (3yo, Major’s Flight x Sheza Dreamer) 1/10 in the G3 First Lady Handicap at Gulfstream. 2nd consecutive win and 1st SW.
[color=red]Ch. American Dance, (4yo, Almost Home x Northern Sister) 1/10 in the G1 Vessels Stallion Farm Distaff at Santa Anita. 5th consecutive win (dating back to last year). 2nd SW and 1st G1W.
[color=blue]Ch. Shiloh’s Hill, (4yo, Worth the Wait x Whistlin’ Dixie) 1/11 in the G2 Theo Marks Stakes in Australia. 2nd consecutive SW (3rd SW overall), 4th win in last 5 starts, 5th win in last 7 starts.

1 Second
[color=red]Knight’s Match, (3yo, Chivalry x Match Me Up) 2/10 in the G3 First Lady Handicap at Gulfstream, behind stable-companion [color=red]Major Dreams.

1 Third
[color=blue]GCh. Lucky Sunset, (6yo, Red Sunset x Lucky Lucky Lady) 3/10 in the G3 Kingston Town Stakes in Australia. Better performance after a string of 4 Also Rans at the end of last year. Still needs one SW to become Stud-Qualified.

Also Ran
[color=blue]Ch. Rebel Brother, (5yo, Backseat Driver x Movie Mistress) 5/14 in the Ung Fred Cappy Capossela Stakes at Aqueduct.
[color=red]Saucy Magician, (3yo, Magic Glory x Kinda Sassy) 7/13 in the G3 Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream.

Six out today, and overall very successful!  :slight_smile:

[color=green]Irish Muldoon ran in 12.5f Allowance for 4yo+ (SC) and placed 1st/14. I bought him as a reliable money earner, and he already earned back more than double his price.

[color=red]Delightful Queen ran in 12.0f Starter Allowance for 4yo+ F/M (T) and placed 1st/6. She is too good!

[color=red]Ch. Cathedral ran in 8.5f Gr. 1 Vessels Stallion Farm Distaff for 4yo+ F/M (T) and placed 3rd/10. The fact that this old lady still has this much energy and talent left is her is so amazing. This is her first grade 1 placing.

[color=red]Secretsofthesky ran in 5.0f Starter Allowance for 3yo F (T) and placed 3rd/6. Makes her multi-placed.

[color=blue]Virginia Challenge ran in 12.0f Ungr. Fred Cappy Capossela Stakes for 4yo+ (SC) and placed 4th/14. Not bad in his first stakes attempt at all! He even beat the great Sunday Paper, which was unexpected.

[color=green]Fortunate Son ran in 5.0f Allowance for 4yo+ (T) and placed 8th/10. His performances have told me that he’s been feeling old lately, so I decided that he earned his time in the pasture and was retired.

I’m glad to see Irish Muldoon doing well for you! I told you he’s a good one. :wink:

And you were right! I’m quite happy with him.  :slight_smile:
